Victorians: What's the new rule for swearing around cops?
Is it if you swear around them you get fined $240? Or if they hear you swearing?

Sorry for the massively late reply! I don't go on basilmarket too often
The experience wasn't as bad as the first time I went! I managed to eat 4 this time compared to 1 Maybe my immune system built a resistance against whatever substances are inside those crazy wings Nevertheless, they still caused the crazy burning sensation on my tongue which resulted in the purchase of 2 slurpees from the 7/11 around the corner D:
I think gordan ramsi will be in debt after a trip to victoria
Read my post. Like I said this rule according to the news has existed since 1966, it just wasn't enforced much. Only excessive swearing that harms someone will get fined. If you just swear to your mates for fun, then it's fine. This rule had existed for 45 years. It hasn't changed
Yeah ok, but let's implant this law in this contest. You walk down-town late at night and then someone attack the friend you are with or a car bump your friend, don't tell me you ain't gonna be mad at the person who caused this and not gonna swear. And what if a cop was around? Is he gonna make sure to give you this fine and then take in charge the actual problem? According to a context, I believe this law is just plain non-sens, even if it existed for ages, it doesn't matter to me.
Then again, if somebody do it for no good reason and just on the pirpose to "harm" someone, it might be allright, then again, I think the person should be fined because he harmed the person, it is not the swearing itself that harm someone, it is the action he commit, someone could provok a person without having to swear. See this logic?
I think such a law is lame and unrealistic. Come on, we are in 2011! Fined 240$ for a word? To me it is just like you get fined for having emotion. Those words are meant to express the dept of what we feel. What if someone is over joyed and say a so called "bad word"? get fined? Pathetic if you ask me.
I could understand if it was to attack the autority, but other then that, mind your own business and let them be.
Also, this make me believe they do not know what to do anymore to earn money from their society to implant such a law. Every reason is a good one to make profit right?
It depends on the context. If you just do the occasionally swear it's fine. But if you swear excessively to harm someone then that's not allowed. It been like this since 1966. It's just enforced tougher now.

Swearing a lot in Victoria has been against the rule since 1966, it just wasn't taken seriously.
