I met my last ex online so there's not much to say about that but I'll tell you the story of my last last ex since I like this one. I was a freshman and I was crushing on this cute asian girl that was also a freshman for the entire year. She had a boyfriend at the time that was a senior (I hate seniors who date freshman it's just wrong imo) so the beginning was pretty slow but after a few months of giving her constant attention and attempting to flirt she started to flirt back. Eventually she broke up with her boyfriend a month or two before the school year would end and but I didn't make the move because I wanted to give her time and also the fact that I was moving out of Canada to go live with my dad in the US for a year didn't help. So nothing happens for a year but we keep in contact over facebook, after a year passes I move back to Canada with my mom and we meet up literally the day after I arrive and lets just say it was one of the more memorable days of my life to date We ended up dating for a few months and then broke up but it was a great few months The point is be persistent when you want a girl and give her appropriate amounts of attention if you really like her. Don't be creepy or awkward about it but if you keep trying at a casual pace then after some time she might grow to like you, being friend zoned doesn't mean you're screwed! I'd rather be friend zoned and have a crush on a girl than be a random guy she doesn't interact with that has a crush on her.

My first girlfriend was a girl I had been going to school with since she moved to my town in third grade. In junior year of high school, we had a few classes together (for the first time since middle school) and we got assigned to the same group for a group project. After that experience, I was like damn, I gotta be friends with her and we became pretty close despite my awkwardness.
But alas, I was friendzoned for her friend actually liked me which I didn't know. However, with much persistence and time, I burst through the roof...like 5 roofs, that was the friendzone house and came out on top to date her senior year of high school. I asked her out to get some late night froyo and when I dropped her off, I just asked her if she would be my girlfriend, and to my utter surprise she said yes. Needless to say, even though our houses are 2 minutes away from each other, it took like 30 minutes for me to get home cause I just drove around all excited and all.
