Torpedo vs. Fire/Ice?

Is it that much better? When I hit 120, I think it'd be a lot more fun to put the points into ship and cannon.. ya know.. for bossing :B
I don't know if I'm getting ahead of myself though

This. Even with out the numbers you can try it out. Practically I've had a better experience in mobs of 4 with lvl 1 torp. I never use fire ice combo it feels too slow. I only use ice to freeze and fire to burn a boss during def up, and of course when boat breaks. Lvl 1 torp just suffice well enough already and when you max it you'll get your 6 mobs back Plus I don't wanna waste time looking for elementally weak monsters lol

I have level 1 torpedo and I hit a max of 80-95k damage (lv 128 corsair). With either ice spitter or flamethrower I hit a max of 50k on a monster weak to that element, so normally I would hit around 25k on neutral monsters with either skill. So unless the monster is weak to both ice and fire, you'll probably do more damage with torp.

@above I agree with that also lv 1 torp is good enough, until you max cannon.

My main point is that level 30 Torpedo deals 120% the damage of level 1 Torpedo. Yeah, only 20% more. The only other advantage in adding SP is the mob count, but 29 more SP for 2 more mobs is negotiable.
Meanwhile level 30 Cannon deals 140% the damage of level 1 Cannon, so adding SP is worthwhile. It also gains 14% Critical chance which is awesome.
Battleship gains 18atk in 9 SP.
Level 1 Torpedo is basically the same as level 30 Torpedo. :x

But yeah, for some reason monsters find time between being frozen and burnt to slip in a magic att.. it gets annoying but you can avoid it by firing the second macro IMMEDIATELY after the first one ends. Worked on the lvl 96 mobs in the mines at any rate =P

I agree with this, not to mention that unless the monster is weak to either ice or fire, I believe torpedo easily does more damage. Also, usually if a monster is weak to one it is more than likely resistant to the other, which basically cancels out the elemental advantage you gain from the monster's weakness.

Torpedo barely gains damage from the 30 SP.
My Corsair has max Battleship, max Battleship Cannon, max Pirate's Revenge, max Bullseye, 1 Torpedo, 1 Hypnotize, 1 Elemental Boost, 1 Wrath of the Octopi, 1 Air Strike.
