How many familiars do you have?
I have recently started collecting familiars in an attempt to obtain them all. I am finding it to be quite the challenge -- much more than I had originally anticipated.
Now that I am seeing how hard it is to obtain many of the familiars, I am curious how many you guys managed to collect! [screenshots encouraged]

@aconitine Out of curiosity, how long have you been collecting? That is quite a large assortment. What were some of the hardest ones for you to get?

I have every legendary familiar in the game (except explorer instructors + ranmaru) Total familiars: 260 about
@givsaro: You can't avoid NOT buying familiars if you plan to establish a good collection. About 40% of the familiar data in GMS are not dropped by any GMS monsters. Hunting familiars is okay, but it's very limited to the extent of your collection-- you'll get around 300 familiars in before you run out of GMS familiars to register.
Here's how booster pack works: you buy one and it'll give you 3 cards; 2 being common/uncommon tier, and the last one being rare to legendary tier. Legendary booster packs give you 2 rare tiers and a chance of a legendary tier on the third card. Only these packs will give you non-GMS monsters such as Rooster, Frog, Python, Plow-Ox, etc.

@09080706l: I think that getting the familiars myself are much more fun and fulfilling than buying them from others. That being said, I am sure once my patience wears thin, my opinion may change -- we'll see how long that takes.
Also, I am not aware of the booster pack events that you mentioned. What are they? How do they work?
Familiars are fun. I've got 502 familiars on my marksman and just past 200 on my mechanic.

They do not have a higher drop rate near the level range. The drop rate of familiars should be constant throughout all levels, proven by the fact that even high levels can obtain snail/shroom familiars, etc. (If familiar drop rate was included in the item drop formula, than some familiars would not even drop at higher levels) Some familiars have a much higher drop rate than others; boss familiars have much higher drop than regular monsters but obviously bosses have a spawn cycle and are much harder to farm.
The rarest ones I've managed to loot include Hsalf, Papulatus 2nd form, and Alishar familiar. It's entirely possible to get many legendary familiars out of sheer luck but the time commitment is honestly not worth it. It'll be best to take advantage of booster packs which Nexon has had a few events giving those out.

Can you confirm this? That would explain why some familiars are so difficult for me to get at the moment. I've killed about 5k Tauromacis, 3k Wooden Mask, 2k Stone Mask, 1k Croco, 1k Muddy Swamp Monster, 160 Zombie Mushmom, 100 Food Stands, 100 Jr. Balrog and they absolutely refuse to drop.
I know as a rule of thumb, drop rate decreases as your level increases above the mobs, but is it calculated any differently for familiars? Or maybe the effect is amplified due to the fact that familiars have a low drop rate in the first place...

i limit myself so that i only have a single page, too.
plus i'm sorta crazy when it comes to appearances so i never add a familiar unless i have 3 copies of it.
I have 3 pages... Honestly it gets annoying af because my big spider and mutant pigs are on the third page and sometimes you just want to summon them ASAP before you get hit by a monster/boss because then you'll get the message o you gotta catch your breath -.-
Mmm I heard that the easiest way to acquire familiar cards from monsters is to be within the level range of them. My friends and I were looking for the teddy bear familiar in ludi. Took many many hrs before one even dropped.

@jaffah Yes, I'm running into the same problem now too. But it's not so bad once you get used to it.
I used to just recklessly use familiar cards because they were permanent but I stopped because I like all the useful ones on one page. All of my mules only have Jr Boogie & Shroom familiars on them
