Failed to use skill for unknown reason and skill malfunc
So after staying logged in for an extended period of time (usually around 2 days), I start getting the following message whenever going through portals: "Failed to use the skill for an unknown reason." [url=http://i.imgur.com/v215v7h.gif?1]Here's a screenshot of that message.[/url]
After I start getting these messages, only certain skills work; by that, I mean the skills produce their animation and cost dark force (b/c I'm a ds), but the damage does not register. I've tried figuring out exactly what causes the glitch and what skills stop working, but it seems pretty random from what I've gathered.
Each time it happens, even if I restart maple, the problem persists and only goes away after about a day. Does anyone else have this problem? Anyone know of a good solution?

@Rexaar: I use windows seven though. I stayed off of my character for 2 or 3 days (without restarting comp) and now it seems normal.

Yeah even if you let it expire, it glitches you out. And even after restarting my comp, it no longer fixes the problem. My character is essentially useless now until they fix this. Thank you for your input.[/quote]
If the glitch persist even restarting your computer, perform a full system shutdown on Window 8 so it can clear out any corrupted memory Maple Story might still be using.
(Window 8 normal shutdown only does half of the shut down job)

Yeah even if you let it expire, it glitches you out. And even after restarting my comp, it no longer fixes the problem. My character is essentially useless now until they fix this. Thank you for your input.

If you don't want this to ever happen again, don't use the Gollux potion anymore.
If you do have to use it, do not ever die or cancel the buff in any important situation, then re-log after you used the Gollux potion when you're done with it, because letting the potion expire also trigger the glitch.

The HT lag has nothing to do with it. The HT lag always existed. I've gone through 3 different computers in the last 8 years of maple and it was always there.
If you stand behind the rope (the left side) on the platform (1st head map) you'll lag. You gotta stand either past the the rope [really close to head] or very very far from it but that way its too far to be able to hit it. It was always there since HT's release.

I had that message before and it might have to do with what GakiNoTsukai (first poster) said, about the Gollux potion. I haven't seen the message for a while now and I don't use the potions anymore, although the message didn't always show up when I used the Gollux potion but it did glitch my damage. Back then I didn't know the potion glitched our skills.

I always have skill lag at both ht heads separately from the initially problem if i'm not on the platform where the portals are. I think that is a separate issue for that specific map.
Happens to me as well, but I don't get any notification, I just get horrible skill- delay(Like when standing too far left on the CHT 2nd head map) and Frozen Orb just goes through enemies without hitting anything, quite annoying but it's really rare to me, happens once every couple of weeks tops.
And, a simple computer restart has fixed my issues 100% of the time.
Restarting MS won't fix it but usually a pc restart does.
It happens to me aswell, Randomly. Used to happen a lot. No idea what causes it.
That's happened to me for Gollux Domination potion if I die in Gollux, the buff tries to activate the whole time for an hour even though it's no longer available. It's not exactly the same but maybe check for similarities (buff duration on your skills that don't add up or any other skill that you have that might be triggering the same effect).
