Will Mages ever get Levitation?
If you think about it, thats the biggest thing magicians need to be MAGES. I mean come on. Grendel, Hilla, Arkarium, the Black Mage, Cygnus, the Black Witch.
Any kind of Powerful Mage NPC can levitate why can't we? D: If 5th job ever comes out I hope this would be something to add as a 1SP kind of thing
What are your thoughts?
P.S: I remember seeing a player levitating in a KMS Hilla battle video, I forgot why but i think it was a cash shop skill effect... go figure >.<
This is what I saw that made me want it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bcb7gBK28jA

In my opinion, mages are obsolete now except for the upcoming class Luminous.
I would love to see myself levitating around. that would be so awesome
I'd also like to note that in 1 of the quests I did in the past (can't remember which) you have the option to ask Grendel why he levitates.
Grendel answers that he levitates because if he can do it, why should he?
Hovering... I can see it like a Haste skill.
You mean like the DS mount?
Not in the slightest bit. What I mean is that instead of walking like the other classes, mages just hover above the ground. That means they can still teleport and use their skills while levitating.
whats the point of levitation tho o.o
It won't need a point because, Rule of Cool
I wouldn't mind it, but I see no point in it as just a levitating skill. If it gave something worthwhile (passive speed? Status resist? Stance?) then I'd be more interested.
It's just a Cash Shop effect.

So snails can no longer kill us.
Good idea, let's give mages flash jump too
Baw baw baw.
I wish. And if this really happens then they should let us sit while levitating too. <3
i think it should be like the gunslingers skill but holds u there for a few seconds
Ironically I made a thread a long time ago about why mages don't have levitation when they really should!
If anything, it takes the place of a walking animation for mages and also give them a passive speed/jump boost
Probably going to be a CS effect.
Buy more NX.
^ There's your answer.
I would prefer not to pay for it though
I want a fart-jump skill.
well there would be no need for flying mounts or soaring if this happened. Though they could jsut give us levitation as a graphical effect (like how demon slayers "fly" with the actual mechanics being identical to walking.
There's a difference between levitating and flying.
Mages can float like Grendel, and Thieves can walk on ceilings like the old Dark Lord.
I approve of this.
And Pirates can be sexy like Kyrin.
Actually another possibility would be to implement "levitate" as a skill similar to flash jump. Maybe: Pump magical power into the surrounding air to temporarily hold oneself aloft. In the air, press the jump key once again to allow you to freely more ur character in any of the 4 directions with ur arrow keys, this effect lasts 2 seconds(or however long it takes to reach a flash-jump like distance). Can only be used once per jump of course, to prevent ppl from reaching places they're not supposed to. This would be good actually, since mages atm are pretty much the only class without some sort of double-jump skill. Yes, we have a mobility skill in teleport, but that leaves us land-locked. Besides, phantom has both a double jump and a teleport skill.
Mages can float like Grendel, and Thieves can walk on ceilings like the old Dark Lord.
I approve of this.
I think the levitating figure of which you are talking about is Kaiser, which is a class that is a part of the NOVA race? -correct me if I'm wrong-
well there would be no need for flying mounts or soaring if this happened. Though they could jsut give us levitation as a graphical effect (like how demon slayers "fly" with the actual mechanics being identical to walking.
