Root Abyss Glitch?
I was just at Root Abyss and when I selected normal mode it made us fight the Chaos version, assuming the "Disembodied Von Bon" is only in Chaos Mode. I'm still fairly certain it was making us fight the Chaos version because his health bar was hardly budging and I was hitting 600k per attack.

i tried the 4 bosses and yeah, all 4 are glitch, but pierre its glitch for worse, he only does 1.5k damage and its easy to kill, vonbon its kinda hard now but have the same HP so no problem, Vellum didn't show the hp bar but after several minutes it was defeated, meanwhile bloody queen, as vellum, didn't show the HP bar and i couldnt kill her because idk, i've been attacking for almost 10 minutes and nothing...
You should find someone who can kill Chaos Von Bon since I did it just today and it went fine.
Get a full party for best chances of winning.
...but I need to fight him for a quest
Only happened to me for Von Bon. Try other bosses instead.
