Hah, why are you so angry?

This site is a privilage, not a right. If you are not satisfied, there's a wide variety of unofficial maplestory sites to choose from.
Since when have sites been a "privilage"?

@lkiller123: I can't state my opinion without someone saying I'm angry? Looks like someone is new to the internet.

I know there are other sites other there and frankly, I use them much more than Basil. It doesn't mean I can't complain. It's worse when you're running a site that has TIMED auctions and is constantly experiencing down time.
Makes me wonder how many people actually don't block the ads, and also click on the ads.
The downtime isn't exactly MrBasil's fault.
We should all make complaints to the hosting server company about how bad their servers become.
Or click on the ads enough times to generate MrBasil enough revenue so that he can afford his own servers?(Does this cost much?)
I'm never giving money to Mr B.
And I doubt it's the host's fault, Mr. B is probably too cheap to upgrade to a better server plan.
How many of you actually know basic HTML coding?
I'd like to see anyone who complains about any downtime on Basil manage it better.

OT: I don't mind any downtime. I just go to memebase or youtube.
Seriously, people, stop complaining.
There's nothing to "manage" on Basil, except for buying a better server. And I fail to see how knowing basic knowledge of HTML can help.
@lkiller123: You better edit that out, don't want him getting any ideas!
@metaghost3: Still leaves a white block
Yeah, it's really annoying.
I love communicating with people on basil, so I get cranky
when I'm at home alone and there's nothing to do and basil's down. >.<
And is it just me, or are the threads aren't updating? As in there hasn't
been any new threads, and the order isn't changing (order as in the threads
aren't dying, threads at the top stay at the top, threads at the bottom, are still
in that spot).
Agreed, this is a big frequent problem. I think the site experiences surges in demand at peak times.

Listen. Of course most people here complaining don't know HTML coding or any type of coding at all. What does that prove? Absolutely nothing. Are they the ones running a huge website that gets thousands and thousands of views each day? No, of course not.
Mr. Basil, on the otherhand, does. And if he doesn't know HTML coding that well (if this is the case), then why the hell is he running this website? I'm pretty sure with all that profit he's making with the ads, he can sure as hell hire a coder to help his site.

Disable ad block. Take a look at the front page, and a thread.
Yeah, you can't expect a free unofficial site not to crash when millions of people all try to access it at once.
More like one or two thousand..

I really appreciate this site, but the recent random down times are really annoying. I wanted to bid on an item really bad, and could have won it for a good price, but due to random site crashes, didn't even get a chance to bid on the item.

in before people say "WELL HES VERY BUSY"
I'm sorry, if you're so busy, why are you bothering to run a website? Why not hand leadership to someone else?
Oh, right. Forgot. You just want the money. |:

Yeah, you can't expect a free unofficial site not to crash when millions of people all try to access it at once.
I like to think this site is pretty good for a free unoffical fansite. Cut the team some slack.

Whenever the game is down, everyone flocks here. That speaks good of the site, and with that many users.. you can't blame them

Haha , I remember that! And they all got locked .
Some of them were really good, too! It's as if Basil was "Napoleon" and his mods were "the dogs" and they'd lock every hate thread against him that they see and "take care" of those who started it! Hahah or maybe i'm just exaggerating. But still.
When was that? Can't believe I missed it.

And yeah... Basil's been white screening a little recently and has been down a lot. I don't know much about Internet and such, I guess the server the site's run from (dpes it work that way?) isn't all that great.

Basil goes down the same exact time as nexon's...I SMELL ME SOME LIL DEALIN AND CONSPIRACY

OT:I don't mind it actually, just wished we had an extension on dealings for auctions since either I end up losing an item I want or the auction doesn't get completed

Its not as bad as nexon.
To be honest this site is down a lot more than Nexon games are down like the other person said, the site goes down at the most random of times.
More or less the same imo, both fail at what they do.
Lool
Gonna say nexon is A LOT worse but meh, maybe you guys spend too much time on basil when honestly, you really don't need to.
Well same goes for playing maple too much when you really "shouldn't"
I find that it's more of the users that have been here for a while who have a range of comparison from how Basil used to work and how it works now. That was a big sentence.
Well, back then it was less popular, not that it was ever not popular. As more people start playing MapleStory - or even people who already have - they come to Basil eventually, and then it gets more crowded. Like some music artists, they could be out for a while and have a decent audience, but say they make a hit song, they'll get a lot of attention. Thats how it is with basilmarket along with Maple.
I'm actually writing a thread right now about how MrBasil wants us to stop coming to Basil. Sure, it seems stupid that someone would make his viewers leave the site, but when you actually read through all of his choices it's very... intriguing.

Also, getting better servers would cut into his profits. Profits that he uses to launch websites that don't work.
>New ads
We've been barraged with ads for at least 2 years. Why are the servers still crap?

>Adding threads is temporarily disabled.
It's been at least 8 hours. You do realize this is a forum, right Mr. B? If you're disabling threads because there are no mods online, hire new mods, goddamnit. I don't know how much longer I can bear with this crap.
