No BIOS screen on this old PC

So I was reviving an old PC over the weekend, and I was hoping to install Ubuntu, or another distro of Linux. However, I noticed that there was no bios screen upon startup. Basically when I press the startup button, it goes to this splash screen that says "eMachines" (manufacturer), and then goes straight to the Windows XP boot logo. I tried mashing f10 and f12 during the splash screen, but no luck. When I'm in Windows, it does recognize the disc, so I'm not sure what's going on.
Help!
Try F1, F2, DEL and TAB to get into the BIOS settings. Start smacking the key repeatedly as soon as you turn the computer on.

Apparently eMachines used motherboards from a wide variety of manufacturers, so there's no real consistency among them.

You might be able to get more detailed info about that particular computer if you Google "eMachines xxxxx(model number) BIOS key".
Thanks, I'll try that later and tell you what happened
