Inconsistent Internet Connection

Hey guys. For the past 2 weeks, my internet connection has been very weird. I would have internet connection for about 5 sec, then no connection for 2 sec, it goes back and forth. This makes everything difficult to do. Is there a way to fix this? Before I had this problem, my internet was unavailable for about 4 days. Finally a tech from AT&T came and "fixed it". I now have some sort of internet connection, but on all my devices, the connection has been very choppy. I want to call in a tech to fix this problem, but I'm sick of paying more charges than I have already for this internet. >.< Thanks for any help.
@ SoulXIV : It's the same with wired connection, even tho I don't really care for wired. The thing is, the tech just replaced the router with this new one and he said with the new one, I shouldn't be having any problems.

I have been considering other internet service providers for the past year, but after checking, only AT&T is available for my area. >.<
This means that you should be giving AT&T a call.

"Finally a tech from AT&T came and "fixed it"." Isn't your problem obvious?

@GreenPyr0: You should check to see if wired connection helps. If so, then you might need a new router. If not, it's your Internet Provider.

@heartofachamp : hm, weird. When I had a tech come in to fix my first problem (having no service), he replaced my modem with a new one.

@SoulXIV : I'm not sure about wired since everything in my house is wireless.
@klu180 : My router is on the floor below me. Maybe 15 ft away?
