ResistGreens guide on how to take down a battle mage

So, seeing as how PvP is being dominated by mage jobs (One of them mainly being battle mages), I thought why not make a guide to help defeat them and become #1?

Some tips and tricks:
- Don't rush/monster magnet battle mages, they most likely have a high level stance and it wont be successful.
- If a Battle mage is using twister spin, then use magic crash and it'll get rid of their twister (Since twister counts as a buff)
- Dispel Dispel Dispel, Battle mages (At least me anyway) hates this.
- Don't jump a lot near a battle mage, one pull with chains and you're going to go flying.
- If you see a Battle mage pick up an attack boosting buff, run away. Dark shock will take away at most 50% of your health, and is extremely deadly.
- If a battle mage is teleporting around you making you dizzy, get out from the middle! (Duh)

Now that I have that taken care of, and now I got a lot of battle mages mad at me, How about I give some of them some tips to fight back?
- Don't bother teleporting up and attacking at the same time, Teleport mastery has a bit of a delay so you can't use both attacks at once, just spam Finishing Blow.
- Mass pick up the defense and the attack buffs, They will boost your defense/attack massivly (an almost 100% chance of death when you use dark shock then Dark genesis)
- Don't just use twister spin right after you spawn, it wastes the skill.
- Use twister spin at around 10% Health left, but don't use it as an attack, use it like a god-mode (Unless you get magic crashed) and run to get more HP buffs.
- You have two chain skills, (Second job and third job). Use them.
- Yellow aura is pretty much useless, so I never use it.
- Blue aura + body boost = 10 seconds of invincibility, very helpful at times.
- Try to have stance maxed if your going to be pvping a lot, Trust me, it'll get annoying being yanked around.
- If you get dispelled, rebuff in this order, Stance, Teleport mastery, conversion, Maple warrior, blood drain, staff booster.
- Use dark shock/dark genesis when the person your killing is almost dead and/or out of range.
- If you havn't used dark genesis right before you die, then use it as a "going away gift"
- Don't go picking up every mystery buff you see, only pick it up when you feel like your in danger.
- Pick up every other buff you see even if you dont need it, so the other players don't get benefit from it.
- Teleport around your enemies, they can get dizzy and mad easy
- If you stand under one of those launcher bouncy thingys, Teleporting up will launch you instead of jumping, saving you some time.

Feel free to leave more tips in the comments below and I'll make sure to add them.

Edit: Ignore the fact that I have way more tips for battle mages, xP

Let me post some tips on fighting BaMs

Even if you are sure you can out damage anyone or if you defenses are indestructible PICK up those pots to ensure BaMs cant get to them
*caution* if you have your hidden potential buff on.. don't go within sight of one. if you do, you are a goner
*caution* if you see one pick up an att pot, DO NOT engage in battle. if they can get to you you are as good as dead unless you have a strategy
Now for battle mages

Like they said, pick up attack buffs and defense buffs
any aura+body boost is usefull
blue for invincibility
yellow for missing
dark for extreme attack power(not too much but alot)

I do pretty well on my BaM (lv110) using the two chains tactics. I usually start with dark aura for check out the oponents, if they are mostly str users, next spawn i use yellow aura with body bost, and survive a lot more with lot of "no hit" on me, then when body boost end, change back to dark aura.

Party Shield takes a second or three to fully start, with only a second or less to work. Its not worth it since you're vulnerable during casting. Not sure if having a higher skill level would help, since I only have one.

Actually, the source of lag is by having the better connection. The worst connection inside your match will determine everyone's lag.

I'm still not into pvp fully, as I can't wield my estaff inside the 120+ area without my potentials. When I do do the 120+ mode, I have a backup wisdom staff. ugh.

I particularly like how close range classes flock together for attacking eachother, while ranged classes step back a bit. I activate ABA+BB, go in the middle of the action, pull the ranged classes in with chains, and easily manage to take a good 4-5 others out in one fell swoop. Dark shock is amazing.

Tactic: when you're low on health and need to escape the clutches of the guys at the bottom. Twister spin, teleport to your nearest spring, and boost yourself out of there. Saved me a couple times. Twister spin doesn't seem particularly useful as an attack anyways.

Also, whats with party shield? the description says 4 seconds, but in my experience, it lasts about half a second.

VERY VERY IMPORTANT if you have more than one BaM in the party and have blue/dark auras on and you use body boost you get 60 seconds of invincibility and damage increase! idk if dark does anything in pvp but whatever either way its still 60 seconds! i usually dont die once during a match if i have 2 BaMs in my party including me.. also could help that im 118 in the 70+ thing but whatever idk if this affects lvl 120+pvp or not just my 2 cents
1 more tip for BaMs if youre in a team deathmatch situation where another BaM in your party is using dark/yellow aura and your using blue get close enough to have both auras then use super body for 30 seconds of invincibility!
Its a minute, and its a glitch, so I didn't post it in my guide.

When i used it with body booster, i still did the same damage. >.<
ADA has a poison passive so it's nice to have that on to rack up some free damage even if it doesn't (I don't know if it actually does) increase your damage.

I'm not mad at all that you made this. It helps us see our flaws and learn from it.

Some anti BaM tactics:

When fighting near a BaM take all chances to take power and defense up potions. A smart BaM will pick up anything to increase survivabiilty, and you sbould do the same.

Use AOE weapons around but not near the BaM.

Attack BaMs from afar when they are hunting mobs.

Ganging up on a BaM is costly but you can. wear them out. (team)

Do not follow a BaM up a ladder if you're low on health. They wait for you then unleash either a chain or a blow.

Like most mages some may teleport away. Try to hit them and see how they respond. If they still flee go for the kill.

Take note of the last time the screen went dark. You do not want to be killed by a stray dark genesis round.

Hmm...not fair. You can recast yours at any time. >.< Also, have you noticed that every time I killed you before, it was when I had an attack buff? Hell of a punch I pack with that. A single Final Blow takes away 1/3 of your health, as I've noticed.

Crash/Dispel does not remove my drain either.

Whenever I get into the same PvP match with you, I leave. You always get to the attack/def buffs before I do, and those are basically how I survive. We both have Drain skills after all.

I do have a question: can Crash/Dispel remove your Drain? It doesn't remove my Aran variant since mine depends on combos (all combo-dependent skills are un-dispellable, as are combos themselves).
Just wanted to say for any Battle Mage reading this guide, you're being taught by an incredible PvP'er.
He always know how to rack up those points and always take 1st by a laaaarge amount.

You, my dear sir, have always scared me when I find myself in the same PvP as you.
You always dominate everyone.. ; - ; But I shall try and take you down now~

So keep up the good work c:
Ironic how I dont get top 3 the first pvp I do after I read this, xD.

Thanks for the support ^^
