Anything exciting in the Cygnus Awakening update?

As I'm looking over the update notes for the new patch, personally... I don't see anything worth getting excited over except for the revamped characters.

[*]The new theme dungeons look alright, I guess, but the rewards don't look any more interesting than what's already available for the effort we're expected to put in;
[*]I'm wishing that they had implemented more widely used aspect ratios for the widescreen feature ([i]hooray for a nearly 16:9 game display, sure, but why 1366x768? Why not 1280x720 or something more... conventional?[/i] );
[*]I almost never use Monster Life, Maple Messenger and Monster Park, so I could literally not care less about changes to those;
[*]the Hot Time hats look interesting ([i]I hope they're tradeable, because I just know the inventory expansion coupons we get on Sunday won't be and I want those for my Cannoneers[/i] ) but I don't see any point in giving us medals along with them that expire not long afterwards and get replaced with stat-less versions of themselves;
[*]the ring-based attendance event looks interesting, but every other event going on these next two months looks incredibly boring ([i]especially the Artifact Hunt which has always been just tedious as all hell to me[/i] ); and
[*]there are no especially good Cash Shop deals... or at least, none that I care to take advantage of, which is a damn shame because those Angel pets are adorable and I would honestly get one if only they had a permanent duration to them.

I'm not trying to sound pessimistic, but aside from the Hot Day hats and the 'Super Weekend Rings', this update actually seems very lackluster in terms of content. Is that just me, or are other people starting to feel the same way about this? If you have one, what's your favorite attraction coming with this update?
