The hate on Macs

Well apparently I'm really ignorant. I've been on basil for years now, and never really payed attention to any threads regarding laptops/desktops, as I had both a laptop and desktop that worked well for me and thought there were other people out there that could explain recommendations better. Now that I did some looking around in the tech section, I'd say a great deal of people just flat out say macs suck, I can build a pc with cheaper parts that runs the same. I'm just wondering how many of these people bought a mac, bought a pc with the same stats, ran them side-by-side, and looked to see if they, truly do, actually run the same. I feel like only after doing that will you e able to say if they actually run the same.

(From a person who runs MS on bootcamp, and does everything else, ex. video+picture editing, web surfing, etc..., on a mac.)

Well, chances are, the Mac booting into Windows will perform better than the prebuild of the same specification. This is mostly due the fact that most brands will have tons of bloatwares that can potentially bogged down the system performance, whereas Macs will boot into Windows without all of that crap. Otherwise, both computers performance should be identical. A Mac doesn't have anything special that will suddenly boost it performance up over a PC, so it's a matter of whether or not it's worth a premium for OSX, Apple's support, and design (aluminum unibody with long battery life and lesser weight). Most people does not think it is worth the premium, so they will say that it "sucks".

Seriously, though. We don't really need to have another discussion thread regarding this. It really could have been posted in the same Mac versus PC thread that you seen and posted in.
