I would just rush the enemies into a corner and plonk down a Wild Trap on top of them to make sure they don't attack me too often.

Cons of Swipe -Small range
Pros of Sonic Roar -AOE range -Hits 2 more times than swipe (3 including Hyper skill) -Hits 2 more mobs than swipe (hyper skill only)
Cons of Sonic Roar -Received late in the game -Requires mastery books -Needs to be level 30 to be on par with Sonic Roar in terms of % dmg. (Both do 1200% at max) -Requires late game hyper skills receive additional benefits (+20% dmg/+2mob/+1hit) -Slightly slower than Swipe

I would max Swipe first just Becuase it will give you a little more healing power.
In terms of leveling, max swipe first for the drain.
