So, how about that Galaxy S3

So samsung recently announced the Samsung Galaxy S3. 1.4Ghz quad core, 720p super amoled (NOT PLUS! ) screen. What are all of your thoughts on this? Planning on getting it? I personally probably wont get it cause I'm happy with my S2, and a lot of the improvements are software, and will most likely be ported to the S2 anyway. I'll wait for the next Nexus or something, since the S3 basically seems like a Nexus with a better processor and all that samsung bloatware we love.

B> Galaxy S3 firmware port to S2.

It's way too big. We spent the better part of the 90's trying to make a small and portable mobile phone, now it seems we can't wait to make bigger and bulkier phones. Give me a Nokia 8110 any day of the week.
It's not that I see the pixels, it's that the way the pixels are arranged in the display produce images and text with jagged edges and it's just very annoying and unpleasant to look at.
Really? I've been told it actually makes curves look more curved and text and such, and that it's worse in more complicated/crisp images.
@Gutanaclone: I know Amoled screens are great but you stated the reason why it's crappy haha. The pixel arrangement is way too awful and jagged when viewed in person. It was a nice idea but it's time to make them all "plus" Right now The One X is the king of Android phones in my book. I may get one as a secondary phone since I have way too much invested in Apple. I was excited for the SGS III but it's just another rehash of the Nexus.
do you look at your phone with a magnifying glass? the only time i ever see HINTS of pixels is when im looking at white and im in a dark room.

@HalfPast12: Well I've compared a amoled to amoled plus, it's not THAT much of a difference at 720p. But yeah, i'd be nice. They're just too expensive to make at the moment, most likely.

The s3 doesn't look much better than my G-Nexus. The quad seems like a waste of battery IMO. Why not just have a dual core but 2x the battery life? Also the inclusion of a home button and capacitative buttons kinda killed the phone for me.

I'm probably gonna end up getting it

I still have a flip phone that requires you to press the number 7 four times to produce the letter S when texting.
And I love it.
I don't see the point of being connected to the internet all the time.
Sometimes I just want to get away.

OT: I have no idea what this thread is about. xd

With that resolution, plus doesn't really matter *-* Everything about the phone seems great but I'll see if it comes to Verizon and has a decent battery first. Practical battery life is pretty important

I'm not planning on getting it for now since I just got my Galaxy S and it's super big for my hands. The Galaxy S3 looks HUGE.

If T-Mobile doesn't get the iPhone within two years, I guess I'll probably get the S3. :x

It depends.
If I get a job this summer I'm getting the S3. ^^
It is pretty much a Nexus but that damn screen. I thought that it couldn't be that bad but after using a Nokia Lumina and iPhone 4 for quite some time then checking out that stupid super amoled screen on a few other phones, it really does suck..
Well amoled screens are great, in almost every way. It's just that they should've used the Super Amoled Plus, not just the super amoled. It shares an identical screen as the nexus, which makes it lose one of the most important selling points in a phone. + the processor isn't even caught up to the HTC One X. Hopefully the focus samsung put into the GPU makes up for it.
