Their too cute to be killed. Also, the fur would be a pain in the butt to get rid off

It's not like cats and dogs are farmed either. If we kill a cat or dog here it's more than likely gonna be someone's family pet. :x

I feel like a cat would have mainly lean meat. The dog wouldnt be too far off either and they could be suitable replacements for turkey. Like I could be eating a cat sandwich rather than a steak sandwich and it would be healthier!

@gvjko: Cats domesticated themselves practically when humans in exchange for them catching mice gave them food and kept them around. Eventually the two species got along perfectly, and cats were also allowed to maintain their independence. Dogs were used for hunting I think, and eventually they were domesticated as well. Dogs however, relied more on humans and many eventually became dependent on us because they were so loyal.

Foxes weren't thought to be domesticated in the past, but currently researchers have proven that you can domesticate foxes. Since they are part of the canine family, they'll develop dog-like personalities once they are used to humans and eventually be able to be companions like cats and dogs.

Fact is, it's in our culture to not eat cats and dogs because we consider them as companions, not dinner. That's why when we look at Asian countries who do eat cats and dogs as barbaric or disgusting.
Because they are more widely domesticated here and our culture does not accept it.
why did we choose to domesticate them and not pigs or some other small creature ( fox and such)

Because they are more widely domesticated here and our culture does not accept it.
