Mecha Purge vs. Beam Dance?
Considering evo world is one of the main training areas 100-160, which skill is better to max first? I know the guides say that Mecha Purge is better, but I find beam dance to be much more effective at evo world. Mecha Purge just feels too slow to be worth using if you don't ohko a monster (or the spawn is as high as it is in link 3).

mecha purge is more for 1v1 bossing, beam dance is more for large mobs
Beam Dance is far superior to Mecha Purge in every way. Someone on Southperry already did the calculations. The only reason you would ever use Mecha Purge is to be able to see DR easier since Beam Dance has too big of an animation on the damaged mob. But since you said this is for Evo Lab, use Beam Dance. When I was 100, I went all the way to 135 in my 5 runs thanks to Beam Dance.
Were you on 2x?
beam dance works best if you're in link 3
Thanks for the input everyone! As it is now though, it doesn't even seem to matter which one is better for evo world since it appears that Nexon somehow broke the spawn in evo link 3 (very slow respawn rate). I 1-2 hit KO with purge at the moment, so I use beam dance when they are together in the middle and purge when they are spread out.
I put all of my Shad's tradeable equips on my Xenon, so at 112 I have a range of just under 50k buffed. Due to Xenon's crazy base range, I'm actually just going to leave Beam Dance and Purge at 1 until I max out Offensive Matrix and OOPa considering everything dies in 1 hit, including Evo with Level +7 anyway.
well beam dance is already very good at lvl1. i did almost all of my evo training with level 1 BD and just recently maxed it (currently lvl166). meanwhile, Mecha Purge has multiple uses so i maxed that first.
Which book is cheaper?
OT: Beam dance seems to work better for me in Evo world

Basically what @Momijii said but for most bosses, Snipe would be better. Bosses like Horntail or Zakum would be better with Beam Dance but other then that, Snipe all the way for bosses like Emp, RA, PB, Hilla, Arkarium (basically most of the bosses)

Snipe has free PDR so it's better on bosses with high amounts of resistance. Snipe also is more mobile than Beam Dance (for RA/CRA purposes).
Mecha Purge works better than beam dance imo. When you use bombardment, you clear the mobs before they even come in the middle. Did a 5min test with both Beam Dancing and Mecha Purge and Mecha Purge proved to be the better choice in the end. If you can 1-2 hit kill the monsters with bombardment then use that, if not then maybe use beam dancing.
Beam Dance is only good if you live close to the servers and don't have a lot of network lag.
In my experience, use beam dance when the mobs come together but in between use mecha purge to clean up. I find both beneficial really, at HoH I use beam dance most often to move through the platforms, but I also use mecha purge to last hit if i mess up somewhere.
I don't really care for Beam Dance. The only time I use it is when it's really beneficial for me to be able to move and kill mobs reasonably quick. At Dimensional Invade I 2hko with Mecha Purge so there's really no use for Beam Dance for me.
My build is/was: Expert -> Mecha Purge -> OOParts -> Offensive Matrix -> Instant Shock -> Hologram Field -> MW -> Beam Dance
I've had no problems thus far.
I maxed beam dance first, works well in my opinion.
