I can see why he is confused. Because so many items do become Untradeable as soon as you put them on. Such as Von Leon/Empress/Timeless/Reverse. All these items are also over 120.
So yes Empress/Von Leon/Reverse/Timeless/Rising Sets do become untradeable. You can karma most of them out except for the Reverse/Timeless ones.
