When do I use Vortex over Song of Heaven? Reboot server
I've been using Song of Heaven to mob because the insta kill chance with wild hunter character card seems to be more effective than spamming spiraling vortex.

Well it depends on what you're killing. What @hydroxide is saying isn't really effective because rarely are you put into situations where you mob monsters less than 4 (that is probably bossing, in which case song of heaven is the obvious choice).
What it really comes down to is what you're trying to kill. Song of heaven is great for the DIPQ stage where all the monsters fly from one spot, but vortex would be most effective if you have to move around a map a lot.
In short, use Song when you can just stand still and spam a skill, vortex if you need to be agile and move around map.
Song of Heaven mobs only up to 4 if I remember? I think Vortex would be better on mobs bigger than 4.
