Who is Amon?
Okay so I know it has yet to be revealed in Legend of Korra and will probably not be revealed until WAYY later in the series, but my question to you is:
Who do you think Amon is? Given from what we already know. And from the strange flashback Korra had after she got knocked out.
Discuss, I'm eager to see all of your theories

@JokerXD7: i like your theory, but there's a large flaw, it can't be Jet's son cuz Jet died in the finale of book 2 when a rock crushed him. and ehh bending caused some wars, but it brought more good than evil imo, yes there are people that use it irresponsibly, but there was really only mention of one war, most of the other times it was conflict between individuals or spirits. I think Amon is pretty badass, but ehh still a crazy guy
Jet's son? If you think about it, they introduced the sons and daughters of many of the now deceased characters. Jet was cray cray, and he died. Now his son's cray cray also, and he wants everyone to be equal (which isn't so bad when you think about it) cuz he's not a bender. Bending has caused all the wars in the Avatar universe, so I'm on Amon's side. There are people who are too irresponsible with it.
@WinterWish: well seeing how it is not executed the same as when Aang took Ozai's bending away, i don't think it's actually energy bending but whatever, and if i'm not mistaken wasn't it just Koh that didn't like the Avatar o.O
it was similar though.
Mmm, they didnt dive in onto all the spirits in spirit world. just a few here and there. If they showed 1 spirit that disliked the avatar, there's bound to be a few here and there.

He had his face burned by a Firebender.
Therefore, he is unable to make facial expressions.
Probably learned the power from Koh the face stealer.
Many spirits dislike the avatar.
@heyitsmexD: that actually sounds like it could be true!
@Deciduous: i can still ask it tho same like those millions of threads of "Who is Tobi/Madara/etc?"
@biggles: eh different timeline but i still like it, yes the original was cooler, but Korra gives me a greater feeling of suspense, maybe cuz i've been waiting 3 years for a continuation of avatar but yeah
Amon is a farmboy to a poor family of non-benders; nonetheless, they were extorted by a firebender. When Amon's father eventually confronted the bender, the firebender killed his family and deformed Amon's face, forcing him to wear a mask since then
highly doubt he's related to any of the older characters
@heyitsmexD: so Madara and Amon are the same person? WHOA! haha jkjk but seriously gimme some theories people!
My interpretation is: The flashbacks emphasize the first awakening of Korra's journey into the spiritual side of bending. It is in no way related to Amon. The Avatar state should've activated when she was incapacitated by the chi blockers in the temple but because she was not connected spiritually, it failed to activate. This episode was to underscore her lack in spirituality, not on Amon's identity. When Korra called out for Aang, this is evidence of her first step. Also, the fact that the setting was a temple also adds to this interpretation.
Anyways, Amon is probably someone we've never seen before. It IS 3/4 of a century after the original series.
kora is horrible compared to the orignal
tired of this question
Amon is new to the series and doesn't seem to have any strong ties to past characters. not everything has to link back to ATLA so directly.
@heyitsmexD: so Madara and Amon are the same person? WHOA! haha jkjk but seriously gimme some theories people!
It's Obito. oh wait-
