I'm not entirely familiar with it as I've only played each a couple of times, but there are 3 different pqs to participate in: Occupy, Attack, and Defend.
I have no idea what the difference between occupy and attack is, you just work to defeat 2-4 of Hilla's towers within 10 minutes, while an army of undead minions swarm you.
In defend, Hilla's army is approaching your gem thingy, and you have to make sure it survives for 10 minutes.
Edit: I forgot Supply mode, which is just a solo map where you defeat the skeletons to pick up 100 supply boxes for a quest.
