@ggqqyo I know where shields drop from, but I might be hunting at a monster that rarely drops my item where I could be hunting at a monster that drops shields every few seconds.

Dual Ghost Pirates.
Making green hofens (spelling?) and higher leveled shields with smithing is actually pretty good
I got a ton from Wild Monkeys and Blue Goblins.
