Can I just hang it on a coat rack? I know the preferred way is to lay the hat upside down but what are the cons of hanging it?

The only kinds of people who should be wearing fedoras are people like the observers from Fringe or the agents from The Adjustment Bureau. Lowly commoners have no place wearing fedoras.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with being classy. Maybe you think differently, but when the guy wearing a suede vest and a fedora is getting more attention than you wearing a hoodie and jeans.. when you go to parties, it's not about social norms or whatever, it's about being classy.

OT: it can lead to undesired bumps, indents, etc. But it'd take a long time for that to happen... not important imo
put it on a bed.
the floor.
a shelf.
a nightstand.
your head.
anywhere will work really, except a blender and other various sharp objects.
