@roy5577 : I just like using steam since I can easily take screenshots, press shift+tab to see what my friends are doing, track how many hours I've afked on maple, and only 1 maple account can link to each steam account. Gamelauncher lets you switch accounts, steam is for only 1 account.

@GreenPyr0: What's the difference between launching from Steam and the site/gamelauncher? Does it pop up that jumping mushroom screen for 2 minutes (the time it takes for me to load it from site OR gamelauncher)?

OT: It's not Windows 8 that's the problem since it works for many people with it (like me).

I just got a Windows 8 (64-bit) 2 days ago. I haven't tried the gamelauncher yet, but running it through Steam works for me. It starts up very quickly and without lag anywhere.
