It was happening to me during 2x, when you had to keep clicking "Start" to get into a room.
I was guessing it was just that the system was overloaded with people all playing in Link 3 and causing tremendous server lag.
I haven't had much trouble with low spawn rates during other times when it's not so crowded.

Someone else suggested it has to do with what cores you use, especially the screen background and the animal skin causing lag, but I hardly ever use those.
And others suggested that completely exiting the Evo system and re-entering will fix it. I haven't tried that myself.

If you count how many 5 secs you can have in 1min waiting for the re-spawn it's alot, imagine staying 30min? That's minutes wasted just waiting for the re-spawn. At this hard times don't forget that famous quote: "Time is money"

@sellinscrolls but it affects my coins per run by a lot, yesterday I got 80 coins in a run and today I got 30 in a run on my 120 ds
edit: and thus affects the time needed to get 600 coins for shadow empress core </3

Because 5 seconds takes a freaking long time.

Yes. It happens after SCs/patches I think.
