Black Mage Conspiracy
Fact is, Phantom ran away just before the battle against the Black Mage. What if Phantom ran off, stole the Black Mage's skills and then killed him. Then, the Black Mage told him that it was Freud who killed Aria out of jealousy. Then, when the 5 heroes went in, Phantom got so angry and attacked them so they actually fought Phantom instead of the Black Mage. Then, they sealed Phantom away while Phantom froze them in ice and stuff. Now, Phantom is actually the Black Mage but he's pretending he's a hero. Soon, Phantom will emerge and identify himself as the successor to the Black Mage and will become a super OP class. Meanwhile, Maple turns into open world PvP where anywhere along the streets, if you see a Phantom, you can fight him.
TL;DR Phantom stole the Black Mage's skills and killed him. Soon, Maple will turn become open world PvP where you can kill Phantoms.

or throw in a male Mercedes after 100years of being frozen the ruler of the elfs has turned into a boy...(only if you play a male Mercedes and follow the quest line story)

not so much aran tho as well the storylines general only with background story/animations nexon made does it really change back and forth
