Weapon Transposition Explanation

So an Empress weapon comes with 8 slots and a Sweet Water comes with 7, but if your Empress weapon has +8 before transposition the Sweet Water will also be +8. You also keep all your EE stats but get a star lowered, so not only do you get a extra slot but an extra slot for EEs as well. The only downside to the transposition is that your potential gets reset, but not your rank, so if your Empress was legendary 25% boss damage your Sweet Water would only be Legendary and the 25% boss damage would get reset. Also you get a total of 103 attack and 30% boss damage from the Sweet Water set and the weapon has the same 30% boss damage and 10% PDR as the Fafnir weapons and set do. However even though the 103 attack set effect makes it better than the Fafnir set a Fafnir set + Tyrant shoes and cape is superior, but for the simple fact you can go grab a cheap godly empress item right now and have it superior to a Fafnir is quite extraordinary. So I advise you guys take advantage of this before Empress inflates.

EDIT:

So I saw a few questions in the comments and to answer them all at once. Yes, Hammers carry over. Yes, nebs carry over. And once a weapon is transpositioned it becomes untradeable. Also Sweet Water equips do drop from Commerci bosses, but they are worse than their transpositioned counterparts as they don't have the extra slot and extra star.

@TheBaldAran:
Your argument is very valid but I never said Sweet Water was the best option I even clarified that it is superior to Fafnir when it is alone, but when used in conjunction with tyrant or dojo gloves then yes it is still number one. But for people who are funded but not overly funded, such as myself, Sweet Water is arguably a better option. Also I'm not sure about whether or not multiple people can sail at once or not either, guess we'll have to see. If it is possible than getting Sweet Water gear shouldn't be that hard.

@Crabcakes410: You can only transposition to a Sweet Water item not from a Sweet Water item. As for the scrolling enhancements more than it already has I already justified this. The transposition will carry over as many enhancements as the pre-transpositioned item has minus a star. For example a +10 scrolls 7 star empress dagger adding a total of 85 attack will become a +10 scrolls 6 star dagger with +85 attack after transposition. Where as a Sweet Water item normally only has 7 slots + 2 hammers for a total of +9 transpositioning a empress with 8 slots +2 hammers will make it have +10.

While Empress gear is going to inflate a bit, theres a couple things that you have to keep in mind. Be warned, I'm bored, so heres a wall of text for yas.

First off, there's the whole deal of getting the 160 gear first, as you need both the Empress gear AND the SweetH20 gear ('cause you can't say tw-- on here lol) before you do a gear stat transfusion (thought that sounded a bit cooler than transposition). The 160 gear apparently drops from either the Kraken, Grosso Polpo, or the Leviathan, who, for whatever reason is called Livyatan. Each boss has around roughly 1.8b hp (for the leviathan one at least, I think the kraken has a tad less, and im assuming that the weaker versions of the bosses are quest related), which isn't too bad. However, there is also the issue of actually having the damage to kill the boss yourself, as the 160 gear is untradable PERIOD. No PSoKs, no nothing. If you can manage to solo these bosses, there is also the issue of getting what you want.

While getting your standard hat, cape, overall, etcetera shouldn't be too difficult, depending on if the drop rate is pretty forgiving, and because they are Common class equipment (can be equipped by any class). However, there is also the issue of getting your class weapon as well, which can take a while, because getting several warrior weapons as a thief would really, REALLY suck. I'm also not sure whether or not more than one person per "voyage" can come along to fight the bosses either. If thats the case, then in order to upgrade, you NEED the gear, so you need to be able to kill the bosses without any outside help whatsoever.

Plus, although it is a very viable option for those who are mainly Empress users, and can't afford/don't want Fafnir equipment, I wouldn't say that these equips are immediately better than Fafnir equipment due to a number of things. First off, the Fafnir equipment set consists of only four pieces; the top, bottom, hat, and weapon itself. The SweetH20 equipment, while having a BOSS set effect, has 6 equips within the set, which are the overall, hat, cape, gloves, shoes, and weapon. This can cause a number of problems when trying to use multiple set effects on a character, as a Fafnir user can utilize the Fafnir set itself, Dojo gloves of any rank, and throw whatever else they feel like, whether it be a Tyrant cape, Helisium, whatever. Also, before anyone throws in the "4th tier" argument into the mix, I'm sad to say that apparently, the difference between 3rd tier potential equipment and 4th tier is very, VERY disappointing (like a 1% increase).

With that said, I feel like the most effective combo, sans Fafnir+Tyrant+Dojo gloves+Gollux, would probably be Fafnir+Dojo gloves+Gollux+2 pieces of Commerci gear. You get the benefit of having a top and bottom, which means more Att from scrolling and essentially two potential, err, potential equips vs just one with the Commerci gear, you get the set effect from Fafnir, the benefit of not being forced to relinquish a dojo glove, being able to benefit from a Reinforced/Superior Gollux set, and having the extra damage boos from the bare minimum of 2 Commerci gear. Also throwing in a Commerci face accessory and an eye accessory as well would probably be a nice idea, as they also have 4th tier potential (again, not very useful, but still), plus who wouldn't want a MONOCLE AND A SCAR?

I guess what im trying to get at is that it is a DEFINITE upgrade for empress users, but it won't cause the prices of empress gear to skyrocket, nor will it kill Fafnir sets.

Tl;dr: You need to be able to solo these bosses (not really definite at this point I guess), collect the equips you need from the boss if they happen to drop, be able to find the boss itself (I think that these bosses are random encounters while "sailing&quot, and then attempt to do a "transfusion". Gear is untradeable period. RA is still better in many cases, mainly involving dojo gloves and the freedom to equip other shoes/capes (or even the 160 shoes/cape itself). Empress won't inflate to crazy prices, since they need to be fully upgraded as well. Still VERY good set. Also looks boss.

Sweet-water equips literally drop. it says it from the update notes. only well scrolled empress equips will inflate. the clean ones aren't going to be worth anything.
