Ms1 Post Ms2
So what do you guys think will happen to MS once MS2 comes out? Personally I think it will die but I have hopes that it won't because of all the things yet undone in it. For example; fifth job, the black mage, all the character sets that aren't finished such as the nova set and the sengoku set, the areas that are currently locked in Victoria Island, etc etc. I really hope Nexon won't mess this up.

I think so, too. MapleStory and MapleStory 2 are two very different games. Many people will try MS 2 at the beginning. Those who like 2D side-scrolling games would probably stick with MS 1.
i think it will lose a large part of the population at first, But after a few weeks or like 3 months of people playing MS2 they will probably come back to MS1
Maybe they'll decide to make larger characters that actually look like adults, rather than give characters like Kaiser Jr a manvoice.

Dude one of the best 3d mmos out there is Final Fantasy XIV and yet it's not the most popular game out there. The most popular 3d mmo out there is WoW believe it or not, and it will always be WoW until whenever it decides to shut down. The main reason is bc WoW was one of the very first MMOS alive. Anyways MS2 is going be huge! I can guarentee it will be one of the big ones despite the not so great graphics. The main reason is bc MS2 is going have something that virtually no mmo has yet and that's full user customization. I have yet to find any mmo 2d or 3d out there that has the user customization MS2 is going have. Trove and Archage are very close but still don't match. Archage needs real money to access any of that, and Trove well you need some real money and the amount they give is is the same amount as mincraft. Meaning more or less garbage unless you make it yourself. MS2 is going allow you to incorpaite your own designs. Which is amazing. I can almost guarantee all the haters out there hating on MS2 bc the "minecraft graphics" are going to love MS2 bc the gameplay is going be so unique and awesome compared to MS1. I honestly wouldn't doubt if MS2 becomes one of the most popular if not most popular free mmo out there. Just like MS1 was the most popular free to play mmo in it's time.
I doubt that maplestory will die because of MS2.. its gone on for 9 years pretty strong and MS2 is quite different than Maple. Besides, for 3D games Mabi and Dragon nest came out, yet maple is still going strong

I think the population will drop even lower than it is now. Other than that, I don't see it dying as soon as MS2 comes out.. but in a year or two that could actually happen.
