Night Lord or Night Walker

So I was thinking of making a second character to play and I really wanted to make a NL cause I played one as my first maplestory character and I have a level 70 one right now and I enjoy it very much. But I haven't played NW and I understand that they are very similar. I guess I'm here to ask whats the main difference between them and what does one have over the other?

TLDR: Should I make a NW or NL?

@Hydraxide: yeah I do the jump attacking and all, maybe i just get bad spawn spots and im just not adept enough at NW control, I dunno. It would definitely make it closer since my NL has +1atk speed, but not enough that it should be faster. Ill have to go again and see. my thing is that with MORE gear, i should not only be as fast as my NL, I should blow it out of the water, and sadly, I dont yet.

Im sure the difference will be much more noticeable once i do gollux on my NW since it has elemental resistance though!
really? thats awesome!
Hmm.. I dunno man, I had about 520k on my NL(clean) and I was able to get 7:30(199%boss, 7x% pdr)
My NW with 570k clean cant dip below 8mins(199% boss,51% pdr) I know PDR makes a difference, but THAT much?
not to mention NW has lower range than NL. I had put two MUCH better tyrants on my NW to out range my NL
It might be worth noting i dont have the lvl 200 hyper for 10% dmg on my NW since its only 190
Its not so much the PDR as it is the higher hits/sec from jump attacking. I think (rough estimate), at 800k clean range and 100% boss on both, my NW finishes about 30% faster than my NL.
This bit is false as they changed it a while back, but the rest is fairly accurate. My NL has 200k range more than my NW and I still dojo slower because jump attack is just that much better.
had no problem leveling up my NW the bats bounce around alot when on a good map and u can just vertical jump and going down throwing the mobbing skill star. Can get reppetive but fun and good at bossing

Hey guys! Instead of arguing on a forum that's about choosing NL or NW, take it somewhere else.

Damn guys real 50/50 here, But I tested out NW for a little bit only till level 70 and it is really awkward. What attracted me to the NL was the fluidity of everything. NL it is I suppose

@abi232: Ok? And? His comment was base off of his own experiences and I simply said fun is subject. I'm shocked.

@unlucky13 You mean his comment is based on his own personal experience and opinion? I'm shocked.

That's subjective.

NL technically has better mobbing yes, but its not like its THAT bad for NW, especially at SDH. Avenger hits anywhere the mobs stand, and has quite a far range. if you're one hitting its still really quick on basically a single platform map. Showdowns EXP boost doesnt activate unless you 2hit mobs, which is still slower than 1hitting.

Bossing NW blows NL out of the water purely dps wise. They have a 10second bind which helps sort of at Magnus, and empress for sure.

I actually found Normal magnus on my NL much easier, simply because I just dont get hit by his rush atk(whether i showdown or not). whereas on NW im casting QT so fast I never have much chance to cast dark sight in time. If i cast it without jump attacking, the gap is decreased immensly between NW and NL. at equal ranges I achieve better dojo time on my NL(NL had 25% more pdr tho)

personally if you want to boss only then nw is the way to go altho training is gonna be annoying to you unless you one shot everything other then that id still prefer NL i have both , both are fun but NL has better mobbing which is nessary to train better.... but just try it out till like 130ish and see if you like it or not dont fully fund it till you absolutely love it

Depends on what you wanna do. NWs are the superior bossers, no question about it. But they feel EXTREMELY awkward to play, at least for me. NLs feel more more fluid because of the connected shadow partner. But make a NW and try it out, you need to see if YOU like it. At the end of the day if you don't enjoy the class whats the point of playing?

I've played both classes and have always liked NL better than the NW. Like Piana said NW is better for bossing and NL is a better leveler/mobber and has a much easier time at gollux. Too me NL has always had a much smoother play style while NW feels clunky and awkward to play. It's something about their changed shadow partner and the way the 5th hit on quintuple throw that just makes it feel unnatural.
TLDR: nightlords have better mobbing, faster leveling, easier gollux
Nightwalkers have better bossing and feel awkward
