How much ignore pdr is actually 100%

Since it doesn't increase 1 for 1 I wanna know how much pdr i will need to actually be at 100%

It is possible for thunder breakers to get more than 100% pdr (they have a skill that gives them a flat % pdr) but I don't really see a difference in damage.

This was around the time of the cygnus revamp though and I haven't checked it since
I'm sorry... I think I know what you are trying to tell me but it is not what I am looking for. I want the equation for finding the Total PDR that is shown in the Character Stats
I think each additional source if pdr is only applied to what is remaining after previous sources have been applied
I.e. if you have 40%, 40%, and 30% it should be 1-(.4)-(.4*.6)-(.3*36) etcetc

Edit: @fiendoverlord: pdr=/=elemental resistance. Elemental resistance cuts your damage in half, pdr acts based on the monsters defense.
If the monster has elemental resist and 70% pdr for example, and your ui shows you have 50% pdr, your damage will be modified like this:
You will ignore half of the monsters 35% pdr, leaving it with 35%. You therefore do 65% of your normal damage to it.
Physical resist will cut the 65% in half so you will do 32.5% of your original damage.

Mages elemental reset and pallies void elemental ignore the elemental resist but are still affected by pdr.

Paladins currently have a skill that has allows them to bypass elemental resistance giving them 100% PDR. But that will be nerfed later.

Buccaneers have 100% PDR... 40% of the time. This won't be nerfed. They better not nerf it.
Well, say you have 40% pdr, what that mean is damage would be delt as though the monsters defense was 60% of it's normal (ignoring 40%), therefore with 40% each line it's .6*.6*.6 = 0.216 or ~22% of the monsters defense left or a 78% pdr. Atleast I think.
Ehh...Just because it is multiplicative, it is still possible ? I mean assuming it is multiplicative now, it still takes your highest PDR% and then the others just become multipliers.

So if you just make it 40% per line from each potential. And assuming you get Legendary with 40% per line.
so.... .4 x (1.4 x 1.4 x 1.4) = 1.0976

And even if the multipliers becomes additive we can still apply it but takes a lot more potential lines:
.4 x ( .4+.4+.4+.4+.4+ .2 + .2 + .2 ) = 1.04
In this case, I am just using 2 potential lines from each weapon/secondary/emblem since it is almost impossible to get 40% in more than 2 lines so... the 20% is the nebulite on each of them so adding a total of 2.6x multipler

So that means it is actually possible to get 100% ignore. Unless someone can show me a different application of what people mean by Multiplicative.

Law of diminishing returns.
There is an optimal breaking point and then anything more will be less and less efficient and a waste of resources
In maplestory, the optimal breaking point is around 85% with the new UI

@Sammi The above post is a pretty easy way of summarizing it. There's a formula that would help explain it a little better but I don't know it off the top of my head and I cba to look for it. There's really no need to go above 85~90% PDR in all honesty.

@Sammi
I think it's because it's multiplicative, you can keep getting more and more pdr, but it'll be impossible to actually get to 100% You can get really close 99.999 etc... but yeah, getting it that high would require intensive pdr from primary, emblem, and secondary.. lol
