Do you dance?

I'm curious about the average Basiler's attitude towards dancing.

Looking for census on ANY genre, whether it be jazz, ballet, hiphop, breakdance, contemporary, club dancing or whatever.

I'm a Latin & Standard ballroom dancer. There is a huge amount of girls in all my dance classes but a very small amount of guys. Its difficult for girls to find partners and I often find myself partner-less.

I wonder what its like for other genres?
Male dancers, what genre do you specialize in?
Female dancers, what do you usually dance?

I don't really know how to dance, except for ballroom at parties.
don't have the time to learn either.. I've always wanted to learn.

i like to dance whenever i can. i can learn new dances by practicing a little and by observing others dancing. thing is, i forget how to do particular dance styles after a while if i dont do it.

I'm surprised to see there are actually more guys who dance/used to dance than girls.
Most of the guys I meet in real life don't like to dance, or they hold prejudiced views that dancing is only for effeminate gay men. Like really, why do I always meet idiot guys?

But it also could be that Basil has a larger population of guys than girls, lols.

When I was younger, I liked to Melbourne shuffle. After LMFAO released Party Rock, I felt that they killed the shuffling culture around me so I stopped.

I'm not really interested in dancing, but at the same time, I know I'm going to have to dance at my wedding, so at some point I'll have to put in the effort to learn some dances lol.

My younger brother though, loves to dance and is very good at it. He knows tap dancing, ballet, hip hop, jazz, latin, and a few others I can't remember lol. I don't have dancing chops like him.

@kayfabe He's doing multiple dance moves in there. I saw some shuffling and the charleston, and some poplocking with his upper body. He's doing a lot of different moves in there lol.
Does grinding count as dancing to you?
Believe me, Latin ballroom REQUIRES you to shake your ass. Especially if you want to dance professionally and participate in competitions.
Things can get quite sexual, if you choose to take it there.

So yeah, I consider 'grinding' as dancing. Not sure for other people though.

I sorta kinda "danced" (more like moved my shoulders and hips) at prom yesterday but I doubt that counts.
I would LOVE to know how to dance, especially some of the more modern styles, but the opportunity has never really been there for me. Dance 1 counts as an arts class, which is a credit I'll need so I'm looking forward to that.
I want to dance, but I have fear of embarrassing myself stemming from how people said I can't dance as a child.
I feel your pain, man. I don't dance in front of my parents or relatives because they always make embarassing comments.
I go dance-crazy in class and pretty much everywhere else. I guess its because my teachers, classmates and strangers in general are much more supportive and open to dancing.
All my parents see is a shy little girl trying to be expressive, lols.

I did some ballroom and some dances for musical theater. I'm not very good though.

At parties, if that counts.
So no genre specificity, no choreographing or any of that.
