Is that hispter fad over yet? Over the last couple months me and the family have been going to the zoo on the weekends. And every time we walk around we see yet another ironic hipster wedding. *yawn* Yes yes, suspenders and checkered shirts with old fashioned hats for the guys. *yawn* Oooh bride, you're wearing clogs or cowboy boots with your cheap vintage dress. *yawn* Serving your drinks in Mason Jars? Wow! Anyways, I've not met anyone older than, say, 25 who was a hispter. I'm not seeing it at the local junior high... I'm wondering if it's a fad that's dying out with the college aged, recently graduated. Can anyone in high school or junior high confirm that the current hispter fad has passed and I won't have to tolerate that tediu

Zimmerman helps family of 4 trapped in overturned Suv There he goes profiling again. Assuming every overturned SUV with smoke coming out of it has an issue! Regardless of your views of Zimmerman, this really throws a monkey wrench into the liberal story of him being a rampaging monster hell bent on killing minorities. Those who hated him might want to rethink whether he's just some idiotic wannabe superhero and not an evil person with malicious intent after all... I think everyone over at Fox News just had a collective... (searches for an appropriate word)... happy moment. Meanwhile at MBNBC a large party-platter of crow has been ordered.

The zombie apocalypse has started- In Miami To summarize the article- A naked man had to be killed by cops after EATING THE FACE off another man! And don't tell me "oh, it's just 1 isolated incident". That's how zombie plagues start- with 1 person. Just wait until after the holiday weekend when the morgue opens back up and poor, lovable Randy the mortician who likes to eat sandwiches while performing autopsies, opens up the freezer to pull this 'druggie' out of the freezer for the autopsy... We all know what happens next. Soon Randy's undead too and running out into the streets of Miami, just as the summer break college kids are heading into town... And don't forget my friends- headshots and crippling/incapacitating limb shots. Ce

The key to a happly maple-life and real-life It's quite simple. It's simply requires a tiny bit of patience. 1) Recognize that MS is a game. A fun, addictive game, but still a non-essential part of life. 2) When possible, log on from 2-n accounts every couple days in your spare time (however many accounts you feel comfortable maintaining) 3) Play whatever character/account you happen to enjoy at the moment in your spare time (while not busy with life, relationships, school, work, etc...) 4) When Nexon has a bit of a 'hiccup', reap the rewards* *2 is the key. Whether it's an overpowered event like the Time Travelers medal, or a rollback that gives your 10 accounts 10k maple points, by having logged on every so often, you'll end up with an ob

Scania players guinea pigs in prep for an Ipo If I owned a virtual-goods company such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Nexon, Zwinga, etc... and was looking to go public to cash in on my ownership stake, I would want to do 2 things: 1) Inflate the number of active users 2) Stress-test my servers to assure stakeholders that we are prepared to scale up after they invest X millions/billions. I'd run as many campaigns as possible to verify the number of active users (useful in determining a value of my company), as well as prove we have a solid technical foundation that can meet and exceed the demands of the robust (and unreasonable) growth we're projecting in our investor pitches. I'd host some sort of series of events that caused as many users as possi

Ap Reset scrolls for those that Hp washed already So the description says it'll reset all AP except that spent on HP/MP. Does that mean people who HP-washed, say, 20 times, will end up short 20AP to use for their LUK/DEX/STR/INT? If you were supposed to have 1000 stat points after a full reset, would you end up with 980 instead since it's counting the 20 times you HP washed? Anyone previously HP-washed is welcome to post their results here, and good luck! I have a warrior I HP washed a while back, so if the 50 coins are easy to get, I'll post my results here. To clear up confusion- HP washing (at least how I mean it) is using AP resets to effectively swap MP for HP. Not simply adding points to HP. HP washing leaves you with the same # of st

Relax, take a deep breath, and stop the UserID hysteria To combat the hysteria about leaked user IDs, why don't we all take a deep breath and think about this rationally... Facts: 1) Nexon goofed- people may know some players ID. 2) That is absurd and inexcusable mistake, and should result in us being able to change our IDs to make us feel warm and fuzzy again. However... consider these even more important facts: 3) Most systems (yahoo, gmail, any unix/Linux system with a root account) have publicly known IDs 4) An ID is next to worthless with a good password and PIC 5) A 10 digit, mixed-case with special characters password will take roughly 900+ years for a desktop PC to hack. 6) An IBM supercomputer, testing 72 BILLION passwords a

There is no real hacking threat due to no SSL on Nexon.net Lately, on this forum, we've seen people getting hysterical over account 'hackings', with the latest blame being pinned on Nexon for not having SSL on their site. Let me state this very clearly so as to avoid any possible misconception- A lack of SSL on their site poses virtually null risk to your account. A lack of a "s" at the end of http does not mean hackers from around the world can access all of our accounts the second we log into nexon.net. Dying in a car wreck and losing your account that way is MUCH more likely that being hacked due to a lack of SSL. Furthermore, a lack of HTTPS and the latest MTS ID revelations also post no risk to anyone who has a secure

How hard does Scarlion/Targa hit? Are runs tricky? I have a 15x Sair that I wanted to use to get some Scar/Targa helms for for my other characters. Looking at their stats, I should be able to solo them in a reasonable amount of time as I can do a decent amount of damage with Cannon (~500k total per cannon, 100k per individual shot X 5). The pre-quests seem easy enough too. 2 Questions though: 1) With only ~6k HP, can the forms that drop the helms (I assume 3rd form) 1 hit KO me? If so, I don't even want to bother, I'll just buy the helms. 2) Are the runs do-able any time, or is it usually crowded and you have to wait forever spamming to enter the map with the bosses? Thanks for any info or other tips/tricks/guides you can point me towards!

Do the Chaos dark knight skills still penalize slashing? I read about some new skill for Dark Knights that's like a 4th job replacement for their current Dragon Buster. It's supposed to be faster, yet more powerful. However, I know it _used_ to be the case that Polearms stunk for stabbing (took a damage penalty), and spears stunk for slashing (took a damage penalty). So, certain DrK skills kinda forced you to use a certain weapon. My question- does anyone have any information on whether the new skill is a stab or slash? Also, does this penalty even exist anymore, or am I totally outdated in my info? I'm wondering because if they've removed the annoying stab/slash penalties for Dark Knights when using polearms/spears, then PSBs might be a gr

The importance of diversification in the MS Economy It frustrates me when I see one of the many, many, many threads about how people have lost mesos due to some new feature of the game. Example: I saw one thread today with a person ranting about how all their time and mesos were invested in buying/building an obscene number of Arcglaives. As a successful investor in the both the real world and here in MS, I can assure you that the principles of investing in the real world apply here in MS. And the fundamental underline principle is diversification. (Not keeping all your eggs in one basket). "Day Trading" (aka spending countless hours scouring the FM for good deals) is profitable, but the amount of effort is staggering, and
