I barely read any non-manga related to belonging, but when I do, I read The Portrait of Dorian Gray.
The Culture series is pretty good on that, too.
You should choose a text that the examiner is going to like - not necessarily something popular, but something that shows you're serious about English. Song lyrics, teen movies, anime/manga, are always looked down upon by examiners. One of my texts was this awesome short story by Franz Kafka called Metamorphosis, which is pretty quick to read but completely full of techniques. I think another one of my texts was a short film by Shaun Tan - he has a bunch of really meaningful children's books as well. This was a few years ago though... is it seriously still on Belonging this year whateven
yup, it's changing to identity or something next year though ahah

@bluemoonshiner
yeah true haha but anime and manga keeps me interested so i thought i could try that
but i'm open to any other suggestions, i'll see how your related text is
thanks !
@jwoy
thanks, i'll listen to it haha, good music
@flamez309
yup you guessed it
I don't think you should do an anime or manga (or a song either). I chose Martin Scorsese's Hugo for that Area of Study, but ultimately, you choose the text yourself.
It's easier to use a text that you enjoy rather than one you'll struggle to sit through.
this guy is australian for sure
i heard my teacher say the movie untouchables was a good one for belonging
