android lag help

LG Optimus L7
rooted using framaroot
installed CWM 6.0 (three point two, this is not a bad ip url bro)
installed kitkat prime
ART caused a bootloop
wiped then flashed CM11 (3.4.0-CM kernel, 11-20131119-UNOFFICIAL-P700 build)
android version is 4.4
running nova does not reduce lag
couple of questions
-why is it really unresponsive now, it used to be ok (used to run Lg's stock 4.0.3 ICS with Nova)
-FLAC playback now stutters really hard, why
-battery life sucks, wifi is not scanning while off, brightness is at 30%, no other wireless comms except cellular, why does it drop so fast even when i am not using it in standby

Kit kat is bad
stay with 4.3, and even so I doubt you will be able to run 4.3 without any lag
1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A + 512 RAM won't handle anything above 4.1 without lag

try a different rom?
