Microphone problems on headset

I just got turtle beach x11's to use for my pc. Everything is great but there is a problem with the mic. When my friends speak, it will echo back to them so they hear themselves. When I play a game, they will also hear the sounds of the game which is very annoying. Please help!

Also, if there is any advice to making the sound quality or hearing footsteps in a game easier, please tell me.
