Official phantom changes are out, what are your thoughts?
Today the official patch that buffed phantoms was released in KMS.
I 'm pretty happy with the changes, however, the thing I wanted the most wasn't given, which's Ultimate Dive (Milles for GMS) to be as fast as all hurricane skills.
Here are the changes:
Phantom
NEW SKILL: Judgement AUTO/MANUAL (beginner): Judgement's buff skill will be set to automatically activate. Toggle on/off.
Steal Skill (beginner): stolen attacking skills' damage and stolen buff skill's durations have been increased
Judgement (2nd/4th): Guardian Card effect has been removed
Call of Fate (2nd): number of monsters hit has been increased from 3 to 4
Blanc Carte (2nd): damage has been increased from 140% to 160%, no longer triggers damage reflect
Ultimate Drive (4th): damage has been increased from 120% to 130%
Twilight (4th): range has been increased
Noir Carte (4th): damage has been increased from 200% to 220%, no longer triggers damage reflect
NEW: Ultimate Drive - Ignore Guard (Hyper): Ultimate Drive's amount of monster defense ignored is increased by 20%.
Rose Carte Finale (Hyper): additional damage is now done continuously over 12 seconds instead of as one explosion, additional damage has been decreased from 700% to
100%, additional number of hits has been decreased from 4 to 2
Final Judgement (Hyper): defense increase effect has been removed
REMOVED: Ultimate Drive - Fast Movement (Hyper)

@knightTale: It lasts as long as it lasts for you. After the "buff" it'll last longer, probably almost or the same amount of time as the original skills
Phantoms were never OP, Nexon just likes slapping them in the face.
For everyone wondering the rose carte finale change is indeed a nerf about about a 400% damage nerf for people who don't hit cap with the dot which is a majority of maplestory or at least GMS. If you hit cap damage with the dot however its a huge buff seeing as it can tick 12 times(2 hits each tick for cap damage) every second instead of just 4 times for cap damage.
With all that said they got a long way to go before phantoms become actually worthwhile to play without having to spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars to hit max damage either way ill still enjoy my phantom and everyone else should too.

They returned us to our pre-nerfed state with the exception of less critical ;o

@ShadowSkillz: Nerf milles: 120% not 110. but yeah, basically we came back to the same %tage as we had pre nerf. I think they missed Aria. Aria should also be back to its original %tage

@all: I think that we can really expect another revamp besides that this year for phantoms and even mercedes.
After wind archers get revamped, pretty much Bow master, WH and mercedes becomes a useless bowman class.
Xenons have a hurricane speed mobbing skill (Just like milles but faster and u can even jump using it), not to mention they have a lot of crazy pasive buffs.
I also think that there are a lot of in balances even after hypers come out, Bowmasters and DrKs are in a huge need of revamp. And also are phantoms and mercedes, even after that revamp.
I really want nexon to balance every class, when I say balance, I don't mean in damage. I wouldn't mind if phantoms were where they are in the DPM chart (post hypers for all classes) if we had the crazy avoidability as dual bladers. On the other hands, I think the gap in DPM from the 1st to the 5th position is already HUGE, which shouldn't be(imagine from 1st to 18th [phantoms positions]).
These are my thoughts, I really hope nexon throw us another revamp (this time the real deal), so we can feel stimulated to fund the class we already have rather than keep creating whatever's newer
Gladly we got something back. Few things are still unchecked (Cooldown between switch skills and nerf on critical/Prier D'aria), though I'm happy with this changes. Better than nothing or another nerf

Yea phantoms are really fun! I'd still play mine when the revamp comes out, but I think I'm going to have to play a Xenon instead.
@Taisuke: Well, phantoms are a fun class, we have a great concept back boning us, we only need a few adjustments and I'd say we'd be evenly matched.

Pretty crappy. I don't see the point of playing a phantom anymore, when it's ridiculously easier to do more damage on other classes once they remove the damage cap. This balance is worst than pre nerf when they weren't even op. I haven't played ms in months but I'm sure once hyper skills are out, phantoms will just be another forgotten class.

To be honest, I think nexon will give this kind of "crap" balance to most classes at first, then, they'll do what they did last year(2012), release a bunch of random patches to promote each branch of class with real changes (for exemple, the one that gave raging blow to heros).
@Arazthoru: Yes, I agree, aria should be buffed to, at least, the amount of %tage it gave before the nerf.
Better then nothing and I really don't understand the penombre(range increase) o.o
also why pdr and not boss damage but like i said it is a lot better than another nerf.
well is not an upgrade or a really good balance soo idk -_- making jugdement have an auto mode is nice, still we don´t know if nexon returned Impecable Memo the way it was before the nerf, aria needs to be buffed too
