This is just another break in between requests, haha Aran was always my favorite! I tried to do the realistic style but in the end I think it still looks anime. I know already that the eyes are too big and anime-looking to be real and he has no upper lip (it made him look like he had girl lips). If anyone does realistic art on their time, tips would be very much appreciated thanks a lot for looking!

Actually, I really like the eyes. Sure, they're larger than realistic human size (and one eye is farther from the nose than the other), but you've definitely got the idea in the shape of the eyes and the brow ridge. What makes it look anime is the nose (which I think is a bit too upturned, not to mention I don't see a nose bridge...) and the chin, which is really sharp. o.o You may also want to consider making the mouth a bit larger. Try drawing a straight line from the center of each eye all the way down the face. That should be roughly where the corners of the mouth are.
There's also something iffy about how Aran's jaw line meets his ear, but I can't quite pinpoint it... anyways, I'm glad to hear at least one Basiler is concerned about improving their human anatomy skills Great job and keep drawing![/quote]
hi, thanks so much for the advice! i've never actually noticed the jawline connection! once again, too anime xD after drawing this picture i actually like anime-realism it's much easier! i'll keep your tips in mind though, very useful thanks so much again and i'm glad you like it!
