Should I quit my job?

I've been working at a fast food restaurant for years now and I hated it from the moment I started. I'm seriously the only employee together with my boss because all my coworkers left. That means I'm working my ass off. Preparing the food, helping customers, fixing the problems that my boss is making etc. Sometimes my boss just leaves me to do all the work while he is on his iphone. He's also lazy to hire new people. I'm a hard working, friendly and a physically fit guy, but everyday I come home exhausted with my ass in sweat and my head full with stress. I am so embarrassed with this job. Some people/customers make fun of me and some even treat me as a idiot without an education because I'm doing some awful work and my boss can't speak or understand the language they speak. These days whenever I'm off to work I hope a truck will drive me over so I don't have to work (sarcasme).

Anyway, after months of applying and stressing for job applications, my hard work finally payed off since I started my new job/internship as office employee at a big firm and with a great mentor last month.

I could drop my old job, but there are 2 things that are stopping me: I feel sorry for my boss to lose his hard working employee and extra money is always good. Tommorow is another work day at that shtty place. Oh god please I don't want to go and I don't know what to do...

@nolen: That's, from what I got, only talking about unpaid internships though.
And I'm assuming, since OP is wanting to leave his job, he's going to get paid for it.

That's what happened to my friend at Taste of Philly.
So quit.

I recently started working back at my old job on weekends--80% because my crush still works there, 15% because my other coworkers were great, and 5% because it was a convenient way to get some extra cash.

A.K.A. unless you're a manager or something it's freaking easy to just get a job elsewhere.

@ilikeanime: If you hate your job dude, and it's mentally taking a toll on you, it's not worth it.
Have a serious talk with your boss about this.
Actually take 2 min to talk to him face to face basically saying what you said in this post.

@ilikeanime I don't know what you career is, but if it's not restaurant work, it's time to move on. Sympathy is nice, but you're not responsible for his mental well being. You have to do the best for yourself.

@shamieekill few months ago some guys came in to ask if we were hiring. My boss said no (lol wut?). He also said he will hire new employees in january because I threaten to leave. Still nothing happenend.

@angeltaylor my sympathy for him. I know he's also fed up with this job, but he can't get anything better which makes him depressed and unmotivated to do anything. I'm 200% sure that without me his restaurant won't keep up. A year ago another restaurant wanted to hire me with a better salary. I denied because of my sympathy to my boss.

Quit. He's treating you poorly, you deserve better. You already have another opportunity lined up. You have never liked this job. Why keep wasting your time?

First I think you should tell him to start hiring more people. Then if he doesn't(or does)hire anyone(either way), give him your 2 weeks notice. This way you will seem more serious about leaving.
But lets say he hires people, but needs you to stay for a bit longer because the new people aren't trained enough. Stay for a bit longer, then leave.
If he doesn't hire people after your two weeks notice, leave. It's 100% your boss's fault for his incompetence.
