Tips for Muscle Ups?

Hello,

This probably isn't the best place to ask this, but it's worth a shot. My friends and I have been trying to learn how to do muscle ups, but we can't even do 1 (most likely due to not understanding how to do 1 in the first place). It's not pulling myself up that's the problem (pull ups come relatively easy now), but once your chest is as high as the bar, how do you go up further? I feel like my shoulders and wrists are locked in place so it's difficult. Any advice on how to lift myself further from that position?

By the way, I don't do the whole leg swinging to build up momentum thing (I consider it cheating).

Thanks

You can't do muscle ups without momentum. Shoot yourself up with explosive force.

Muscle ups are predominantly to do with momentum, meaning to get better you just have to keep practicing. It can help that when doing pullups, try and touch your cgest to the bar. Also don't have your arms to wide, it makes the transition awkward.
