But you also won't need to cube them to 20% LUK each because the set effects help your range so much. a cRA claw has base attack of 90, the next best claw that is readily accessible is Empress with base attack of 69. That is 21 attack you have to make up with scrolling before you reach the base level of cRA. If you use the same scrolls on the empress and fafnir, you would have to enahance the empress claw 4 or 5 times to get the same attack, which also costs money. To put things in perspective, I have 95k range buffed using clean reinforced gollux, clean cRA, and an empress claw with 13%luk total on all my equips. If I switched to fafnir claw and scrolled my gollux/cRA gear, I could hit 300k range with about 10% luk on every equip instead of 20%

When you say 300k range with cRA, tyrants, and gollux, I'm assuming that these are somewhat decently cubed right? Or can you really get 300k with clean equips o.o Sorry I've yet to scavenge enough money for tyrants and cRA lol

It is far cheaper to get a 300k range with cRA, Tyrants and gollux than it is with older equips. So people really don't have much of a choice if they want to get good damage on a thief. Either you pay a lot of money up front for the equips, or you pay a lot of money to cube older equips.

Clean gear is still super cheap(In my server), I think the only expensive thing is just cubing

You can treat this as a golden opportunity if you're not a thief-related class cuz you can sell high if you happen to obtain a good thief eq
