Guard Ani Skill was easy to get since he is spammable.
The bosses don't drop at a 100% rate but I'm guessing the harder bosses drop at a higher rate than the weaker ones.
Each boss drops their own unique Soul Piece where 10 Soul Pieces can be combined to make the bosses' complete spirit which is equipable to a weapon with a random bonus stat.

I wish they stayed normal sized and do something else to them to make them signal that they are about to give a buff

It's a skill, whenever you kill a certain amount of monsters, the pet either increases or decreases in size, and you get a buff. Every single new pet in KMS since the end of Tempest does it, it's a little annoying but useful.

The pets give random buffs every 10 minutes I think?
So the closer to 10 mins they get bigger and get all anxious when they are about to explode
