I'd buy them something for them, I wouldn't want them to do something stupid with the money

I don't give money but would offer to buy them food. Some would accept my offer and others would deny it. I'm assuming those who denied it only want cash for drugs and booze.

My Dad works in London and everyday he works he brings this homeless guy who he passes everyday a breakfast and cup of tea from mcdonalds lol

Money is not to be given to beggars. If they look filthy, dress them; if they are hungry, feed them.
The signs that command "Do not feed the birds" or " Do not feed the animals" should be put up around high traffic begging areas.

If they look like they are suffering, I might buy them some food. A sandwich or maybe a cup of java. Then there are typical beggars who look like they could have worked but were too lazy so screw them.

I've been living in Boston for the past year, and I gave money to beggars the first few weeks I was here. When I saw the same beggars a few weeks later with cigarettes and Starbucks coffee I said I would never give beggars money again. What a waste.
