I seriously dont get how people get scammed in a game

It's either you're a tard, or your mama never told you to never trust a stranger...

Don't trust someone fully unless you know where they live

Getting scammed is so easy if you're dealing max+ items.

@PorkSquad: We're not talking about how you or other people will develop into scammers, if you choose to do so then that's all on you. We're talking about how to avoid getting scammed. Read the topic.

It depends on what the scam was. Some you should see coming, but in other situations, there are trades where someone HAS to go first. In those situations there's always that risk of being scammed, but if you truly want whatever it is, you just risk it and hope the other person is as trustworthy as they claim. Of course you could just go around assuming every single person you meet is going to scam you, but then you'd never be able to make expensive transactions. It will be less of an issue when the new meso cap comes in, but it will still happen regardless.

Haven't been scammed yet, but that's probably due to me being the type of (unusual) person that I am.

I think its fair to get scammed once or twice as a noob, while youre still figuring things out. After that, no excuse. Youre either dumb or lazy at that point. Lazy as in you didnt put in the effort to examine the situation closely or ask about something unclear. Dumb as in...dumb.

What's scamming? Not getting what was promised by the other party?

Well, playing Maplestory is a scam itself so I guess you're a tard too? Free to play? Please.

It happens. People get scammed. Sometimes because they don't care, sometimes because they don't do research, sometimes because they are just new. It's always funny to call them idiots until it happens to you.

Ive been scammed atleast 2 times in my whole maple career and to be honest its a learning experience. you know what they say: fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. just makes you learn that no one in maple can be completely trusted, not saying that there aren't honest and earnest merchants and people out there, its just scammers make everyone look bad

If you're a high level merchant, you've probably been scammed at least once. It's a lot easier to get scammed than you think.

It's not because we're idiots, it's because some of us have had knives stuck in our backs from say, a long time friend or a respected guild that should be trusted. As for "not trusting strangers", sometimes you have to put your faith in someone to make a transaction at all.
