How can you make friends without trusting a stranger?
Editing:
Don't trust someone fully unless you know where they live
It's okay mr. thread maker, I know you're to poor to have ever made a collat trade over max mesos
Getting scammed is so easy if you're dealing max+ items.
@PorkSquad: We're not talking about how you or other people will develop into scammers, if you choose to do so then that's all on you. We're talking about how to avoid getting scammed. Read the topic.
some people as just not born with common sense. it's the internet, trust no one.
It depends on what the scam was. Some you should see coming, but in other situations, there are trades where someone HAS to go first. In those situations there's always that risk of being scammed, but if you truly want whatever it is, you just risk it and hope the other person is as trustworthy as they claim. Of course you could just go around assuming every single person you meet is going to scam you, but then you'd never be able to make expensive transactions. It will be less of an issue when the new meso cap comes in, but it will still happen regardless.
Haven't been scammed yet, but that's probably due to me being the type of (unusual) person that I am.
I think its fair to get scammed once or twice as a noob, while youre still figuring things out. After that, no excuse. Youre either dumb or lazy at that point. Lazy as in you didnt put in the effort to examine the situation closely or ask about something unclear. Dumb as in...dumb.
What's scamming? Not getting what was promised by the other party?
Well, playing Maplestory is a scam itself so I guess you're a tard too? Free to play? Please.
Only Low-Lifers scam. Truth is, you'll never get scammed if you never go 1st.
Actually im person would give people the benefit of the doubt stupid as it is.
Think of Kanzaki Nao in Liar Game. WE'RE ALL LIKE HER ;O
Scams happen whether you like it or not.
I've been scammed when i was a noob. I've yet to be scammed yet, by following a few key principles which consists of "NEVER GO FIRST NO MATTER WHAT!"
@IImaplers this guy know whats he's talking about
It happens. People get scammed. Sometimes because they don't care, sometimes because they don't do research, sometimes because they are just new. It's always funny to call them idiots until it happens to you.
Ive been scammed atleast 2 times in my whole maple career and to be honest its a learning experience. you know what they say: fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. just makes you learn that no one in maple can be completely trusted, not saying that there aren't honest and earnest merchants and people out there, its just scammers make everyone look bad
@imnew09:
Wording was ambiguous, I meant to say "successful merchant"
@imnew09: What about tomatoes?
@GrammarJew there's such thing as "high level merchant?" </3
@SellCute not surprised since you sell yourself for mesos
@DjFunky to discuss about tards and potatoes
Naivety.
So what are you trying to discuss here...?
As rude as it might be, I kind of agree...
Who's to say trusted* people can't scam?
If you're a high level merchant, you've probably been scammed at least once. It's a lot easier to get scammed than you think.
It's not because we're idiots, it's because some of us have had knives stuck in our backs from say, a long time friend or a respected guild that should be trusted. As for "not trusting strangers", sometimes you have to put your faith in someone to make a transaction at all.
