Random mother trucking disconnects
Has anyone else been suffering from random and repeated disconnects/freezes?
It happens to me every few minutes regardless of where I am in the game or what I'm doing. First it lags a bit, then freezes completely, and then I get a message telling me an error has occurred and that the game must be closed.
I haven't played for a few months, so either this is a problem with newer patches, or possibly changes I've made to the registry (with updates and cleaners).
Any thoughts?

@Amanojaku: When it was first implemented, you were able to end the process and everything would be fine.
After the recent black cipher updates they've made, you can't run maplestory without it on...or at least that's what I've experienced.
Ending the process for it, basically sets a countdown timer of a minute or two for your MS client to automatically close. <~also what I've experienced
If you set the process to low priority, then the limit of CPU usage will unstabilize the process altogether thus crashing it which will ultimately result in ^^^^
So yep, I know what you mean when it just gets worse =/
I can almost guarantee you it's probably Black Cipher, the anti hack thing they implemented not too long ago with the already existing HackShield. I'm getting constant lag spikes and occassionally crashing.
Black Cipher spikes up to 60-100% CPU usage every 5-10 seconds which coincides with the problems you're having.
I've sent a ticket about it (they actually respond at max, the week after for tech tickets lols...) and they have yet to suggest a solution that resolves this issue for me =/.
I use to be able to run MS fine with the usual town lag on a 8 year old comp, until blackcipher came along ;[
specs: 1.2GB ram, P4 2.4ghz CPU o.o' which is just a fraction of the average computers made today QQ
i just re-installed after a couple months of playing (last time i played was around familiar hacks January I think....) I had a couple characters in different places and the ones that are in towns (perion, ellinia) lag out and dc right after i log in... but the ones in the fm is okay... even channel 1 bera.. so I'm really confused =_= can anyone help..?
yep very very annoying i cant stay logged in longer than 30min
Sometimes i just d/c without even getting a notice of "The game has stopped working" Its like the game was never opened.
Yes, it happens to all of us, and it sucks when you're bossing and your game closes without any error messages at all (causing me to punch a hole through my monitor).
i just lag for like 3 secs once every 15 secs...
never had this kind of issue.
Only happens if I attack with a lot of people at lhc.
I was getting those too. I just dc without ANY warning
And it's annoying to log back on to find out that your party kicked you & having to search for another party
Nexon's servers just suck.
@infinitiate: Lol, im no good with tech specs, so i cant really say.
I'm having the same problems
What kind of video card do you have? (I'm trying to figure out if it's a driver issue).
I'm having the same problems
Sorry, let me correct myself. It's not a sustained lag. The lag will occur for about 5-10 seconds every 15-30 minutes or so. It's periodic. Either way it never fails to disconnect me completely. It's definitely not an internet connection issue because I can still browse during and after a disconnect.
Also, my specs are:
i5-2500k processor
8gb ram
Radeon 6850 graphics
Only happens if I attack with a lot of people at lhc.
I've noticed that there has been a lot of graphical glitches and bugs since the last patch...
and I lag a lot. Though it may have been my comp
Yep, happens to me too, at the most random times. I could be doing something that may lag me or simply just afk and STILL dc. Could be five minutes right after I log on, or six hours. It's really frustrating.
My lag situation isn't quite as bad as it sounds like yours is, but more importantly, I only occasionally get the error message during/after DC. It might be something to do with your own computer...
