Cannot log in

Ok, so something weird happened to my friend. He got disconnected, and when he relogged clicking the login button does nothing. (It just depresses and comes back up) When he tries to log in on the website, it works and all, but after selecting the channel, he gets kicked. This is usually the sign of a ban, but there's no message when logging in through the game launcher. Did this happen to anyone else?
