The term 'feminist' is extremely sexist
In Old English, men and women were originally called "wermen" and "wifmen", respectively. "Men" was generically used to refer to refer to both genders. Nowadays, "wermen" has been merged with "men", yet "wifmen" retains its exclusiveness with "women".
This is extremely sexist, as us women do not need men to place us in a special category of our own. Even though "men are expendable, women are special" is something that is very true and naturally occurs in this world, it is the world being inherently sexist. Women are being oppressed and mocked by men for being "special", and are treated with things like "chivalry", which is also extremely sexist; again, we don't need to be treated specially [b]just because we were born female[/b]. We women are not weak, and we not need men to mock us like this.
Therefore, a term like "feminist" is also very sexist as it encourages the oppression of us women. It is the exact opposite of what we want.

Feminism isn't about being treated special. Feminism is saying that women shouldn't have to worry whether or not they're taken seriously based on their gender. It's about not having to worry that if they get violated, no one will come around and blame them for it by saying the usual "wow what were u wearing were u showing cleavage u probably had it coming dressed like that."
Feminism doesn't oppress women as it was made to counter act inequality put in placed by patriarchy.
Also, i noticed you said female, which refers to your sex. sex =/= gender. there's a big difference between your sex and your gender.

It doesn't matter who came up with the term. It is still extremely sexist.
Some self respect-less women accept chivalry with open arms, despite it clearly undermining them for their gender.

The word "feminist" was first used by women involved with the equality movement dating way back before the current "women's movement" in the US.
That is, it was their choice of what they wanted to be called.
It's not something being forced on them by the evil men.
The feminist movement isn't about getting ahead or above nor is it a ploy to surpass men of their privilege. It's actually about achieving equal rights and being aware that there is sexism is modern day society.
