Hell, earlier today, I helped a classmate calculate whether turning in his final paper would make a difference in his grade. For context, in our history class, you get your lowest assignment dropped and replaced the average of your other assignments in that category, if the average is higher than said dropped assignment. Clear as mud? Yeah. Anyway, he's turned in everything so far, as based in his scores, if he turned in his final paper and got 100% on it, he'd only gain an extra point out of 100 cumulative points for the class. So, he can comfortably skip it. Unfortunately, I don't have that luxury, as I skipped the last one...

My only... grievance? ...is that I don't know that I'm "passionate" about the field. I feel as if I'm doing it mostly for the money. I do have some interest in it, and I think it would be useful in pursuing my other, deeper interests, but... I just don't know.

Of course, that puts me pretty much on track to graduate at the same time as someone who graduated high school normally and takes a four year route. It could take even longer, since if I make my college soccer team at any point, I probably won't take any core classes during that fall.

I actually quite like exams, as I'm a good tester (projects on the other hand, I abhor). It's just that I haven't really been keeping up with my reading for history or statistics, with the latter being pretty killer to catch up in. For the former, I just haven't really found the class interesting, and I'm sick of writing papers, with there being one due this Thursday. I don't hate history, and I see the value in learning it, but I don't rate the book I have for that class or the work I have to do. I don't really like required general education in... general. Nor do I care that much about school, for that matter.

Mmn, I started working on making simplified notes of my stats class- just the necessary formulae (my notes from in class cover each entire lecture, which, while useful, makes it a lot harder to find the really important information; also, a fair chunk of my notes are just quotes from my professor; he's an incredibly humorous guy, but also a fairly tough grader)- but I decided I'd rather sleep than finish it, and I subsequently did relatively poorly on my second midterm. I still scored above average, and it was only about 10 points lower than my first midterm, but as I mentioned elsewhere, it's the lowest of my six sets of 100 points, so it'll get replaced by the extra credit, and it'll be as if I didn't even do the midterm. I don't feel I'm prepared for the final. I think I can manage if I finish those simplified notes, but my mind keeps wandering into nihilistic territory.

I have a year and a half left until I graduate with a Bachelor's in Graphic Design, so I'm past most of the classes that require final exams (except for the occasional elective). On the contrary, final projects can be just as much of a pain in the ass.

I usually used notecards to study. Writing things down and quizzing myself always helped.
