Teacher makes fun of autistic boy, ridicules him
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tfkscHt96R0&feature=relmfu
Father appropriately angry and frustrated at a teacher, who is specifically teaching an autistic class. In this class, is his son.
His son hit the teacher, and exhibited aggression towards the teacher and her aids.
So, the dad wanted to get to the bottom of this. Why exactly did his son, who never displayed any type of aggression, hit his teacher?
He puts a recorder on his son, sends him to school, and listens to the horrific words that are said.

@Balryn and @Chocorate: Well, they could both be wrong. I wasn't validating the teacher, I was criticizing the autistic kid.
@Balryn specifically: If you're saying that the teacher is wrong because she broke predefined laws of nursing practice, isn't the autistic kid also wrong by the same logic, since he broke predefined laws of human society? Assault is a crime.
@griffon5299: I was actually diagnosed with mild autism. I'm fully functional as a person, but I just have trouble developing empathy the same way others do. But to be clear, I'm not making excuses. Don't disregard my argument just because I "have no heart," if you disagree with me then follow through with logic and reason like Balryn did.
Wired his son...
He should be the one punished, for being so god damn ugly.
come on now, grow up.
OT: what a shame, and to whoever said the kid was in the wrong for hitting the teacher, did you watch the whole thing, it's pretty bad how those "teachers" acted and i think it is appropriate to place the blame on them and fire them all.
I saw that on the News this morning. It's just sick.
the end almost brought me to tears.
i hope the teacher would get what she deserves.
He hit the teachers because he was provoked. This boy was being bullied by immature adults who were unable to perform their jobs properly. He is autistic so you can't expect him to act like the average joe and think rationally... to him, violence is his only means of showing how he feels about the situation. If you note before, he is unable to communicate properly so he does so by physical means.
The key phrase here is: "He is autistic so you can't expect him to act like the average joe and think rationally." While that may be true, I don't think that means an automatic pardon whenever he breaks a law, unless he's unable to be psychologically conditioned, in which case he's a vegetable person. He's obviously capable of psychological conditioning, since he's attending a school, so he needs to be conditioned that hitting people is a bad thing, regardless of if he was provoked.
Did you watch the video, because the guy says the opposite of what you just said.
No, the guy did not say the opposite. The teacher is continuing to work through the Cherry Hill schools, and has been transferred over to a different school NOT fired.
The aides however, were ALL fired.
I like it how the father went about this whole situation so professionally, I would have raged my ass off.
But he did an awesome job at getting his sons justice!
@iwuvwafflez: So, in the end, he hit the teacher. He's in the wrong then. Whether or not he's autistic or his parents are divorced or he was made fun of is just an excuse.
@iwuvwafflez: they all should've been fired. ;_;
watched the full thing.
Sadly, stuff like this happens quite often.
I'm glad Akian's father did something about it though. He had solid proof and got Jodi fired.
Really great.
The actual teacher is not fired, but the aides are. >.<
So... did the son hit anyone?
The son did hit the teacher in the arm once.
His parents are divorced, and he asked if he could see his dad after the switch-off week with his mom... teacher says "no" and starts hysterically laughing.
Then, the boy started making funny noises to himself (normal..), and got told to shut up because he's a retard.
So... did the son hit anyone?

It's pretty sad. A shame most of Basil won't watch the full thing.
