I'm not much of a fan of alcohol, but I'll will drink since I'll be legal.

@Nashi That's kind of like saying, "If I want to stay awake, why not just eat a few spoonfuls of sugar instead of drinking a can of Sprite?" It just tastes better when mixed with stuff. And like Zoneflare2 said, some drinks don't taste the same without the alcohol. Some of my favorite drinks are dependent on the alcohol for its flavor.

Some people drink alcohol for the taste while others drink it for the effect. I'm part of the latter group. Drinking liquid ice cream by itself wouldn't give me the effect of alcohol, which is the point of drinking in the first place (at least for me). If I can get the effect while treating myself to a delicious drink as well, then I'll be more than happy to.

On my 19th I had a small gathering of friends, no much alcohol.
Although with nearly all of my mates birthday parties, All of them offered really expensive alcohol, to drink of course.

It was kind of anti-climactic for me when I turned 19, considering I had been using a fake ID to get into bars for 3 years already. Though that was the first time I had done tequila shots, so I couldn't actually tell you what all happened since I don't remember.

Drink a lot and have adventures in NYC. So my typical Saturday nights.

Mine is on a Wednesday. I have 3 final exams that day... I'll probably just go out to dinner have a drink or two with family and go back home and fall asleep early.

Hm, I don't remember what I did on my 21st birthday. I didn't drink though, I don't see much point in it. Straight alcohol is an acquired taste, so I see no point in drinking something whose taste you have to get used to. Then you have flavored alcohol, which I also see no point ins since if I wanted something sweet tasting I could just have that without the alcohol in it.

So even though I just turned 24 today, I have yet to drink a single drop of alcohol and don't plan to (well my GF keeps trying to get me to try drinks since she turned 21 last year, she's had 0 luck though lol).

I've done everything by the time I was 16 that I'd be doing when I turn 21 (in a couple months). I started pretty young. I don't regret it though, my life's beautiful & I've learned a lot of life lessons much earlier and faster than most kids.

but when I turn 21, I'm probably going back to Vegas. Me and my friends go every new year, probably just rent out a suite, party, hit the pool parties, club, strip club. Man you name it. Lmao

@xreminiscing: If it tastes like liquid ice cream might as well drink liquid ice cream instead of the poinson-mixture. It's really not something I want or appreciate at all and why disguise alcohol for something else when you can just have the pure taste instead.

@Nashi: There are drinks that actually taste really good. I've been obsessing over Bailey's+milk because it tastes like liquid ice cream.

Those things that you described don't actually happen unless someone drinks way more than they're supposed to. And sure, I can feel relaxed and happy without alcohol, but drinking makes me feel those emotions 10x more than I normally would. I guess to each their own, though.

@Nashi You're never going to try it even once to see what the fuss is about? I used to be very anti-alcohol. I thought it was stupid and I thought people were ruining themselves by drinking it. Then I actually tried it for the first time and now I drink alcohol all the time. I'm not saying you'll necessarily start loving alcohol if you try it, but I feel like you should at least see what it's like before saying there's no purpose.

On my 18th bday I went into a sex shop with my other 18+ year old friends.
