Don't think I've seen one on basil, so I figure I'd start one. My OC is 4.6 GHz @ 1.24V on an i5 4670k
@Darkwizzie: Gta 4 alone is not pretty at all. Only when you apply graphical mods and enb's, does Grand theft auto become a marvel to look at.
Take a look for yourself http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ynxg0xnrLZ0
Anyways, if you do end up getting Battlefield 4, hit me up so we can play sometime.
Wow, that's amazing. I've never really heard about GTA4 mods, I knew a GTA4 ENB was ported for Oblivion but never seen that before.
I agree that Grand Theft Auto 4 is inefficient, but I was just putting it out there that its pretty beautiful when it comes to graphics. I normally use Metro Last Light and Battlefield 3 to bench when it comes to games.
Really? I would not have thought of putting Grand Theft Auto 4 as an option. Maybe it's because I've only played it on console. Not sure if it'll be ideal as a bench though, not sure if it uses a better piece of hardware correctly, making it hard for the similar results to show the higher power of another GPU, for example. I don't have BF3, I guess I might get BF4, dunno. At least I have Crysis 3 to bench.

>You stress with Furmark? What about Prim/IBT/etc? Your temps look quite solid, why not go over higher OC? 4.2 is low.

Stock voltage. I don't want heat. I'm proud of my low temps. Furmark uses 100% of your GPU, PRIME95 uses 100% of your CPU. I don't need anything else. I use them purely to test temps and stability.

>'I have a logitech g19 to that i almost never use Gkeys and the only thing i use the screen for is my music... costs me $330 lol
My mouse is (razor sucks) razor mamba that cost $130 and i dont even have the software to change the keys installed (tho its kinda dumb you can change every key on the mouse with it)

The mamba is seriously garbage. I bought one when I didn't know anything, and I managed to brick it through normal use. The sensor also did odd... "things" in some games. In sharp contrast is the Deathadder, which is a fantastic mouse with a great sensor+ergonomics.
No, Prime stressed more than Furmark even though they both use 100%. It's weird but that's how it goes. I run Chess which is endless, continuous CPU calculation, that's 100$ across all cores all the time. 78C. With Prime I might hit 90C. Linpack I could hit over 100C. Needless to say I don't use Linpack for stressing. But that's for Haswells though. Obviously Prime isn't required, stressing isn't even required, some people in the overclocking community have religious rules about stress tests though.

Deathadder seems like a decent mouse. I read about the 2013 variant. I'm sticking with Abyssus though. I don't feel need to change my mouse right now.

It's terrible. Horribly optimized. I would never benchmark with it.

Is that even how you place a 7 speaker system? You buy things without knowing much about them... Neither of us are mad. There are tons of people in the world better or worse off than us, why the hell should we care enough to be mad, lol. Oh, and it's called getting a job. I have one. Your setup isn't anything special to me at all... The amount of money you spent from your parents' pockets doesn't impress me either.

i5-3570k @ 4.2 GHz with stock voltage. Idles at 19~21c (using Real Temp). Using a NH-D14 for cooling. Does not exceed 50c at 100% load (tested with PRIME95.)

Also, thread title isn't specific, so: MSI 7950 @ 1100/1500 (from 900/1100) with stock voltage. Does not exceed 60c at 100% load (Tested with Furmark.)

I don't think Lynerus knows that much about computers based on his previous posts. Which is fine on its own but to insult what we do, that's another...

Been playing Crysis 3 lately and we all know that it's stressful on the computer. I play Skyrim/Fallout 3/FalloutNV/Oblivion with mods. A higher clocked CPU would help with this. Oblivion is basically one huge CPU bottleneck for me even at 4.6ghz on Haswell architecture. Single threaded FTW? But yeah, I add the mods adding to visuals like texture packs, etc, rampinig up vram and gpu usage. Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is a bit of sentimental value as I run a retro 1992 Wolfenstein 3-D forum. It's fun with bots though. It's also a CPU bottleneck, even more CPU oriented than Oblivion as my GPU is actually prevented from working at 100% usage due to CPU usage. Single-threaded bots, and I like playing with many bots. But with my new rig I can finally play my favorite setups and always stay above 60fps. BOTS EVERYWHERE!

The Last Remnant is a JRPG from Square Enix that I play... finished it, been back to try to complete my own personal challenges (beat final boss with x10 hp, etc). It's got a unique combat system and nice soundtrack. Been asking Square Enix if they have FLAC version for purchase. NO REPLY. :'(

I rarely do MUGEN or Wolfenstein 3-D nowadays. I do some chess, that of course is a CPU benchmark in a box.
I still have Bioshock, Tomb Raider, Blood Dragon to play which I got for free with the Never Settle Reloaded bundle. The 7970 ghz was on sale for $100 off so I grabbed that instead of GTX770.

Oh yeah, I play on 1440p so that's extra taxing on GPU.
Ah, I would move my computer to my basement, but I just like the convenience of having a computer in my room.
I basically moved my room downstairs. I think there's 25F or higher variance in temps between top of house and bottom of house... I sleep downstairs now too. Nice and cool.

It's silicon. Silicone is used for something quite different. ;P

Sorry, I have a gaming life outside of Basilmarket and Maplestory.
That must get really hot, 4.6 on a 212 and done automatically by software always uses too much voltage, if I were you I'd learn about Overclocking, because you're likely degrading your CPU much faster then you need to,
If one doesn't learn overclocking it (might) be safe to assume the person will keep their computer for longer than a hardcore enthusiast. Don't forget though, Sandy isn't as hot as Haswell.

Anywho, I got 78C doing chess on 1.36v... I know, it ain't Prime95 but if it's stable for what I do them I'm happy. I don't exactly set up my rig to Prime95 each night. I be breaking them rules. I got a batch 330 from Costa Rica. Uncore is pretty useless as a setting, drop of 0.7ghz is equivalent to dropping 0.05ghz of core clock in my tests. I am thinking of dropping OC to 4.5ghz because I can easily slide under 1.3v.

BTW, Have you tried the C states? Drops the voltage when not under load, makes my CPU all happy. But never stress on adaptive... Voltage went up 0.025 above my set max on adaptive when benchmarking on chess.

@Lynerus No, I meant afford both. Also you never specified "for games" in your post. Not to mention we're in the "Tech Not related to MS" section. Also, who buys a board meant for high perforamnce OCing, etc, and doesn't overclock. Confirmed for being a complete moron.

On that note i dont even remember if my pc is OC'd anymore i think i reset it because i didn't care so

imo joke incoming

Girls take PC overclocks now in place of mooneys!
Impying OCing can't help with what I'm in university for, not to mention it helps with and right out of university I'm going to be making 80grand+

Women gonna love that money. Not my fault you can't afford both, pleb.

Anyways:
If you have Haswell and you're scratching your head as to how to overclock I made a guide.
http://www.overclock.net/t/1411077/haswell-overclocking-thread/

Ironically the forum is called overclock.net, lol. I'm really ticked off at Intel for their crappy thermal goop problem two CPU generations in a row. AMD's got nothing.

OP:
I'm also running a chart of statistics showing what others got for their overclock. Mind typing out your:

CPU:
CPU Multiplier:
Uncore Multiplier:
CPU Voltage:
Uncore Voltage:
Cooler:
Stability Test:
Batch:
Ram Speed:

Thanks
Sure, tested with Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, and Prime95, and I did like 3 hours of Aida, but Prime and IETU I did 12 hours each.

CPU: i5 4670k
CPU Multiplier: 46
Uncore Multiplier: 40
CPU Voltage: 1.243
Uncore Voltage: Not sure
Cooler: Corsair H100i
Stability Test: IETU, Prime, AIDA
Batch: 3313A602
Ram Speed: 1600 Mhz

4670k also at 4.6ghz, I had to push to 1.36v on D14. Sadfaice. Too lazy to post a pic. I was able to get 1866 ram going...
x46 core, x34 uncore
1.36v, AUTO
1866 DDR3

I also OC'ed my 7970 ghz edition to 1200 core clock, 1600 memory clock unable to add more voltage for some reason. What stress did you run on your CPU? 1.24v is very good. I don't want to delid right now.

To other people: If your computer sucks, you can't overclock, you don't know how to overclock, WHY THE HELL ARE YOU STILL POSTING? You really feel 50 comments of 'my computer can't make me toast' will contribute to anything?
